Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 403

Chapter 403

Mia clapped her hands in approval for her friend. “In the Cedillo family, you’re the bee’s knees!” She

then gave her friend a thumbs up.

Leo also gave his aunt a thumbs up. “You are the coolest aunt.”

Molly pounded her chest in pride. “Age comes with wisdom.”

Andre, the guardian, quietly listened to their plans.

Determining mental illness was not as simple as one might think. It required specialized equipment for

head examinations. Only when the equipment showed abnormal data, would a medical diagnosis of

mental illness be issued. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

In the evening, after having dinner at home, Leo had to leave again. Before he left, Naomi held her son,

repeatedly confirming, “Are you going to do your work near here this time?”

Leo answered, “Yes, Mom, I won’t go far. I’ll come home every day so you can see me, okay?”

Naomi responded, “That is not necessary. It can get annoying. Just answer my calls.”

Leo was upset. He was an only child, but he never enjoyed the privileges of being one. He even asked

his mother, “Are you planning to have another baby with Dad?”

If anyone deserved a slap, it was Leo. The slap Naomi gave him resounded throughout the house, and

not a single person felt sorry for him.

Bruce shooed him away, “Just go.”

Leo, holding his car keys, left gloomily.

When Molly kindly escorted her nephew out, Leo was scared. “Molly, I didn’t do anything to you. Use

your kindness on someone else.”

Molly grabbed her nephew’s arm, disgusted by his cowardice. “Leo, what do you mean by what you

said in the backyard? My temperament is enough to give Chad a hard time in the future?”

Leo clearly said to Molly, “Exactly what you think it means.”

Leo had already gotten into the car and left. Molly could only watch his car disappear. “Leo, explain

yourself!”

No one responded to her question. Only Leo’s car exhaust was left.

Molly, with this matter on her mind, returned to the living room.

Everyone at home began to think about the name of the baby in Mia’s belly. Mia, a blessed woman,

didn’t have to rack her brain. She just needed to choose from many options. When it came to decision-

making, even Andre, the CEO, had to let her have the final say.

Naomi was planning to buy a crib for the baby. Mia, a new mother, didn’t quite understand. “Naomi,

isn’t it too early to buy it? It takes up space.”

Naomi replied, “Even the best crib needs to be aired out. If we buy it now, it’ll be ready by the time you

give birth.”

Andre also suggested, “Maplewood Estates doesn’t have a baby’s room. We need to renovate a room.

Mia, you can choose a room for the baby when you have free time at home.”

Andre had always intended to move to Maplewood Estates, which was the place he considered home.

Hansen was a bit disappointed. “Why leave when we have a good home here?”

Naomi also added, “If you stay here, I can look after Mia. Who will look after her if you move?”

While the family in the living room discussed, Molly wasn’t paying attention. She returned to the

bedroom and called Chad. It didn’t take long for Chad to answer, “Molly, what’s up?”

Molly was lying on the bed. Her eyes were rolling around, as she idly fiddled with the bedsheet. “Well,

Chad, Leo is back.”

Chad said, “I know.” When Leo returned, he sent him a message thanking him for his contacts.

Molly lay on the bed, hesitating for a while. “Chad, I have a friend…”

“Speak up, what happened?” Chad didn’t let Molly finish. He could tell something was up from her tone

and the way she started. Sometimes it’s not so great having a family member who is a cop.

Molly sat up on the bed. “Leo said my temper is enough to give you a hard time. I don’t understand

what he means.”

Shouldn’t her temper be something her future husband had to deal with? What did it have to do with

Chad?

As she spoke, Molly’s heart raced. She couldn’t describe her feelings.

On the other end of the line, Chad tensed up when he heard what Molly said. And he also remembered

the question Leo had asked him earlier. His hand twitched and he didn’t respond for a while.

Molly asked, “Do you understand what it means?”

Chad’s eyes blinked, and then he murmured, “I can guess.”

“What is it?”

“You’re going to marry me.”

It was as though a thunderbolt had struck from the skies, reverberating in Molly’s heart. She didn’t

speak for a long time. Her cheeks turned crimson. Her body felt like it was being pricked by needles.

Her heart rate accelerated.

On the other end of the phone, Chad coughed twice to ease the awkwardness. “Go hit Leo.”

“I’ll kill him.”

Chad was busy again, so Molly hung up the phone disappointedly. She lay on the bed, with her hand

on her chest, staring at the ceiling in a daze.

In the living room, the family had even decided on when to buy the crib. Hansen wanted to order it from

abroad and have it delivered once it was ready.

Andre declined, “It doesn’t matter where it’s from. He’s a boy, so he won’t be so delicate. This

weekend, I’ll go shopping with Mia and we can pick one out.”

Mia was surprised. “I thought you would spoil him since you’re almost thirty and just having your first

child.”

Andre said, “Spoiling you is enough.” As for his wife’s subtle age jab, Andre held his tongue.

Andre also had his own thoughts. He wanted to know what it felt like to be a father, and shopping for a

crib for his soon-to-be-born son was part of that experience. If they went with a custom-made crib, he

would miss out on a lot of the emotion.

Mia agreed with her husband, “Since you love me so much, I’ll go shopping with you this weekend.”

Regarding moving back to Maplewood Estates, Mia had already decided to stand by her husband. She

had also made up her mind to follow him wherever he went.

Naomi knew that Andre doted on his wife and listened to her. So she privately talked to Mia about it,

“Mia, our family living together makes me happy. I don’t want you to move away. Talk to Andre. Please

stay.”

Mia also had her own thoughts. “Naomi, we’re not in a hurry to move. And you don’t have to persuade

us. Where my husband is, that’s where my home is. If he wants to go back to Maplewood Estates, I’ll

certainly go with him.”

Having said that, Mia playfully added, “Besides, it’s not like we’re moving to Mars. Maplewood Estates

is just a stone's throw away. I can always bring the baby over anytime.”

She comforted Naomi, leading her back to her bedroom. “Off you go, Naomi. I need to hit the sack too.”

Back in their bedroom, Andre had already adjusted the water temperature in the bathroom. He had

noticed Naomi pulling Mia aside earlier, so he asked, “What was Naomi talking to you about?”

Mia replied, “She was persuading me, trying to talk me out of moving.”

“And what did you say?” Andre was curious. He could sense that Mia had a lot of friends here. She was

naturally a tad lazy, and Naomi had been taking care of her every need. He wondered how she would

adapt to life in Maplewood Estates.
