Tangled Temptations

Chapter 241

Eloise's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she pushed him away. "No, not happening!"

Unable to sleep any longer, she got out of bed to change her clothes in the walk- in closet.

Harvey followed her in.

They had been married once, and he had seen her countless times in various states of dress. Eloise didn't care anymore. As she slipped on her sweater, he wrapped his arms around her from behind. In a low voice, he said, "Eloise, you're still holding a grudge against me, aren't you?"

Eloise didn't deny it. Some things indeed weren't easy to forget. In a soft voice, she said, "Harvey, we both need time."

He hummed in agreement, which was a much better response than she'd gotten from him before. He didn't try anything with her now, because she was not just the woman he wanted, but also Linda's mother.

Certain things had to wait for the right time.

Just then, Harvey's mobile rang. It was a call from Parker. Harvey held Eloise's waist with one hand and answered the call with the other. "Dad?"

Parker didn't sound too happy. "Harvey, bring Eloise home."

Before Harvey could ask why, Parker asked him to hand the phone to Eloise. After

a brief conversation, Eloise nodded. "Alright, we'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Harvey asked, "What did he say?"

In a low voice, Eloise replied, "The Lynch family is making a scene. They insist that I check if I'm a match for Griffin's bone marrow donation."

Harvey was furious. Not only was Eloise not a match for Griffin, but even if she were, were they expecting her to donate her bone marrow?

Seeing Harvey's expression, Eloise chuckled. "What's the matter? You seem to have a problem with Griffin now."

Harvey removed his bathrobe and changed into a shirt and trousers in front of Eloise, explaining as he did so, "You'll find out when we get there. It's all rather unpleasant. Dad and Griffin aren't on good terms anymore."

Eloise could tell there was more to it.

...

The three of them returned to the Horigan residence. As they entered, they saw Jane throwing a tantrum, with Diana and Joan also present.

Jane was crying and shouting, "If it hadn't been for Griffin saving Orlena, he wouldn't be infertile now. He's sick, and he wants Eloise to be a match for a transplant. You're all reluctant to help. That's heartless!"

Harvey handed Linda to Eloise. With a cold expression, he retorted, "Why don't you go to the Noland family for help?"

The Noland family? The mention of Brett made Jane's face stiffen.

Harvey helped Eloise sit down, scoffing, "You don't dare ask the Noland family because you know you've wronged Eloise. Instead of reflecting on your actions, you're here causing a scene at the Horigan's."noveldrama

Jane persisted, "Griffin saved Orlena!"

Mrs. Horigan had held her tongue for a while, but she couldn't hold back anymore. "Yes, Griffin did save Orlena. But do you know why Orlena fell into the water in the first place?"

The members of the Lynch family were taken aback. Joan clenched her fists. Had Orlena remembered what had happened?

Pauline looked disgusted. "It was Joan who pushed Orlena into the water! At the time, Parker and I were suspicious, but two years ago we hired a hypnotist for Orlena. The hypnotist helped Orlena recall that Joan had indeed been the one that pushed her!"

Joan, of course, denied it. Ignoring everyone else, she looked at Harvey and denied it vehemently, "I didn't do it!"

But no one paid her any attention.

Jane defended her family member. She still needed to use their past favor to coerce Eloise into donating bone marrow to Griffin. The situation quickly turned ugly.

Harvey frowned. "Eloise is not a match for Griffin."

What? Jane didn't believe it. She looked at Eloise, heartbroken. "Are you just like your mother, holding a grudge against Griffin and refusing to save him?"

Eloise laughed, "I registered for the national bone marrow registry when I was 20! If I were a match, I would have been notified long ago."

Jane sat down hard on the floor. She stared blankly at Eloise, feeling a sense of unfamiliarity. What was going to happen to her son?

Her gaze shifted to Linda. A glimmer of hope sparked in Jane's eyes. "Linda also shares blood ties with Griffin. She..."

Before Eloise could respond, Harvey, who had a notoriously short temper, intervened angrily, "Who do you think you are, even considering using Linda?" Jane was ignorant. She threw a tantrum on the floor.

Parker was getting a headache. He had once thought Griffin was a gentleman. But now he realized Griffin couldn't even handle his own family, letting them act recklessly and disrespectfully.

Parker stopped Eloise from intervening and stepped in himself. "If a match is found in the registry, and Eloise is willing to donate, we won't stop her. That's her compassion for a stranger! But she will not match with Griffin as a daughter. And Linda's just a child. How dare you even say such things?"

Jane was not satisfied.

Diana spoke up, "Parker, for the sake of our long-standing friendship..."

Parker responded coldly, "That's just you taking advantage of us! I don't believe you and Griffin didn't know about Joan pushing Orlena into the water. But you hid it from us, making us feel obligated to repay you over and over again!"

Because of this, Harvey had almost lost his family. Over the years, what had they not sacrificed? And now, when the Lynch family was in trouble, they had the audacity to come and ask for help as though nothing had happened!

Parker called the butler and stated clearly, "From now on, do not open the door to anyone from the Lynch family."
