The Alpha’s Fated Outcast: Rise Of The Moonsinger

Chapter 336: Unexpected Allies

Lyla

As Ramsey and I returned to the pack house, the afterglow of our intimate moment still warming me, I noticed a group of people standing in the front courtyard.

They weren't pack members—that was clear as soon as we drew closer. These strangers wore warrior clothing in colours unfamiliar to the White Mountain region: deep purples, midnight blues, and burgundies rather than the traditional golden colour that was the White Mountains'

Seth was the first person to see us, and immediately, he announced Ramsey's presence: "The Lycan Leader is here."

Immediately, the warriors formed neat lines, standing at attention. Ramsey walked between them, his hand gripping mine as he guided me forward. We stopped before someone with their back turned to us, speaking quietly to another warrior.

The figure turned, and I felt Ramsey stiffen beside me. I couldn't blame him—the woman before us was breathtaking.

She stood nearly six feet tall, with a willowy frame that looked both delicate and powerful. Her hair fell in thick waves to her waist, the colour of burnished copper shot through with gold that seemed to catch the light unnaturally. High cheekbones framed eyes so vividly green they looked like polished emeralds. Her lips, full and curved in a knowing smile, were painted a deep burgundy that matched her leather armour.

"Hello, Ramsey," she purred, "It's been a while."

Before either of us could respond, she stepped forward and pressed her lips directly against Ramsey's. I watched in shock as she kissed him for several seconds before pulling away, leaving Ramsey looking stunned.

She turned to me immediately, taking in my expression, and then—to my complete horror—she leaned in and kissed me as well. Her lips were surprisingly soft, and the kiss was brief but undeniably intimate.

"That is how we greet where I come from," she explained, stepping back with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "Don't worry about me, Moonsinger, I'm the safest woman to be around your man. Ramsey is no longer interested in me."

She extended her hand. "My name is Circe Dart. Lycan Alpha from Grey Moon Pack."

I took her hand cautiously, noting how cool her skin felt against mine.

"My name is…"

"C'mon, darling. I know who you are. Who hasn't heard of Lyla Woodlands, the infamous daughter of Logan Woodlands? Your father was every young girl's dream man back then. You have his eyes."

"Th-thank you," I stuttered. "I guess."

But she already moved on from me and turned back to Ramsey, arching one perfect eyebrow.

"We had difficulty accessing the White Moon Region. It seems you didn't tell anyone we were coming."

"I was expecting you'd communicate that to me, Circe. This is unexpected."

"So, I should go back?" Circe challenged, her eyes gleaming mischievously as she stared at Ramsey, who sighed.

"Of course not, that's not what I mean."

"Anyways, I had to talk my way through and brought a couple of warriors from the Lycan packs that accompanied me, and still, your Butler is doubtful. He pretends like he doesn't remember me."

My chest tightened with resentment. Who was this woman, and why did she speak to Ramsey with such familiarity?

I turned to Ramsey, who met my gaze with an apologetic look. "I'll explain later," he whispered.

He turned to Seth. "Tell security to let them in. They're our guests and sent for Caius. Tell him to ensure that everyone is comfortable, or" Ramsey shook his head. "I changed my mind, ask him to come see me now."

Seth nodded and moved away to go and carry out the instructions.

At that moment, Nanny and Terra came out of the pack house. Circe immediately approached them, taking Nanny's hand and kissing the back of it with a reverence that seemed at odds with her earlier boldness.

"Mother," she said respectfully, "It's truly an honour." Then she turned to Terra. "Wise Woman," she said softly, bowing before she continued. "The Moon Goddess has quite the sense of humour, right? Giving werewolves powers so similar to witches."

"Who are you?" Nanny asked bluntly, with a guarded expression.

"I invited them," Ramsey interjected. "A few days ago, I wrote to all the Lycan packs from across the sea, informing them of our situation and requesting support. I didn't think they would come, but here they are."

Nanny's eyes narrowed. "That doesn't explain what she is doing here."

Circe laughed; it sounded like crystal bells. "I'm also a Lycan and a witch. So, I am a hybrid. I'm the current Alpha of my pack, and I've come to support Ramsey." She spread her hands in a gesture of innocence. "Is that so surprising?"noveldrama

Nanny didn't respond, her expression making her thoughts clear.

"I'll leave you to deliberate and bring the rest of our warriors inside," Circe said, bowing slightly before turning away.

Once she was out of earshot, I rounded on Ramsey. "Why didn't anyone know you were doing this?"

"I knew," Caius said, approaching from behind us. "I suggested it. Our manpower isn't enough to face the Dark One. Most of our warriors are down-spirited and need a lot of time to recover. I wouldn't want to put weary warriors on the frontline. We need all the warriors we can get."

"I cannot trust anyone who is both Lycan and witch," Nanny said firmly. "How did she become an Alpha in the first place?"

Ramsey sighed. "You're being cynical. I've known Circe my entire life. We should be grateful they came at all. Packs across the sea rarely concern themselves with our problems. Thanks to her, the Lycans agreed to cross the ocean."

Terra, who had remained quiet until now, spoke up. "How many warriors did they bring?"

"Five million," Ramsey replied.

I gasped. "Five million?"

"Twenty Lycan packs each sent 250,000 of their finest warriors," he explained.

"Do we have enough provisions for them? Clarissa came with about a million plus werewolves, too." Terra asked practically.

"The pack has provisions that could last five years if necessary," Ramsey assured her.

Terra nodded thoughtfully. "Then it's a brilliant idea. We need all the help we can get."

While we were still discussing this unexpected development, Circe reappeared, sidling up to Ramsey and running her hand seductively up his arm.

"Where is my room, darling?" she asked, her green eyes sparkling.

"Weren't provisions made for you at the visitor quarters?" I asked, unable to keep the edge from my voice.

Circe smiled at me. "Yes, but Ramsey and I had an agreement. I get cold easily because my witch genes are more dominant than my Lycan ones. Besides, I prefer the comfort of the pack house."

I was about to ask how she knew the pack house so well when the door burst open. Lenny rushed in, his face breaking into a huge smile when he spotted Circe.

"Circe!" he shouted, rushing forward to embrace her.

"Lenny, my darling!" she exclaimed, hugging him tightly. "Look at you, more handsome every time I see you!"

"And you, still the most beautiful woman I've ever met," he laughed, lifting her off her feet and spinning her around.

"Oh, stop it," she giggled. "You know, flattery gets you everywhere with me."

"No one told me you were coming? I saw strange pack colours a moment ago and was able to put two and two together. And to think we spoke last night, yet you didn't mention it. How was the journey? Did you bring that horrible brew you call wine?" Lenny asked, still beaming.

"Of course I did! A whole barrel just for you, though I still don't understand how you drink that swill," she teased.

They might have continued for hours if not for the weight of our stares. Lenny finally noticed and cleared his throat, looking slightly embarrassed.

"Sorry," he said. "It's been years. I got carried away."

"You know her?" Nanny asked, her voice tight and suspicious.

"She's my sister," Lenny explained with a wide grin. "We share the same mother but have different fathers."
