One-Hundred Fifty-Nine: Family Meeting
Chris
I walk over to the packhouse with a huge smile on my face. It always makes my heart sing when I can
tell my sisters what I am about to tell them. I live for these days. Nymyra is with me. She is going to
hang with Leah, Daniylla, and the other women who will not have to attend this meeting.
“You really do get off on telling your sisters that there is a family meeting, don’t you? She asks me.
“It is the highlight of my day. Yes, I do.” I say, smiling.
She just shakes her head. She knows how much my sisters detest having to go to our family meetings.
They complain and throw a tantrum of epic proportions. It makes me smile to see their irritation. Mom
has no idea how they haven’t killed me yet. I can answer that one; they can’t kill me cause I can’t die.
“Why do you have that stupid shit-eating grin on your face?” Tye asks.
“Oh no, not today,” Jailynn says. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
“What’s today?” Mykenzie asks.
My sisters, Mykayla, and Bryn have just walked into the room. Donte and Rye see my face and know
exactly what I am going to tell them. Reecie just sits there with a smile on his face. I am bubbling with
excitement.
“Today we have a family meeting,” I say with a smile.
Two seconds is all it takes before my sisters start whining. Here it comes.
“Why the fuck do they need us to be there?” Kylani asks.
“We don’t even care about any of the shit they discuss. We never have.” Mykenzie adds.
Oh, this is music to my ears. I just stand there with a smile on my face and watch the meltdowns start.
It is glorious. I really shouldn’t enjoy this as much as I do, but I can’t help it. This is the one way I can
get my sisters back for the pranks they played on me during the latest prank war. I have to get my
revenge somehow. This way is safe and hilarious at the same time. They do this every time. It never
gets old.
“You enjoy this don’t you?” Seth asks.
“Greatly,” I tell him.
“You are the worst,” Rye says.
“I have to get my joy from somewhere,” I reply.
“I thought you got your joy from me?” Nymyra asks.
I pull her to me and kiss her. I do get my joy from her, but this is a different type of joy.
“I do get joy from you but doing this to my sisters brings a different type of joy,” I tell her.
She slaps my arm, and I laugh. For fuck sake, they are still throwing a tantrum. Oh, this so warms my
heart. The large smile on my face probably says it all. Bryn and Jailynn both shoot me a glare, but I
don’t care. Nothing can dampen my mood right now.
Mykenzie
I know that bastard brother of mine finds great joy in telling us about having to attend these pointless
family meetings. I think it’s the highlight of his week to tell this. I still don’t understand why we need to
be there. They never talk about anything of importance. It’s the same shit every time. But no, for some
damn reason, they just have Kylani and me there. Ok, so I know they turned over power to us, but they
still deal with pretty much everything. That’s the way we wanted it. We should have told them that if we
agreed to this, we would never have to attend these stupid meetings anymore.
“Why do they even need us?” I ask.
“Because you’re the boss.” Reecie answers.
“I am not,” I reply.
“You’re one of the bosses.” He adds.
I give him my best glare, which does nothing. Any other person would have run away, but not him.
Damn him. I don’t want to go. I stomp away to get dressed for this stupid fucking meeting. It’s not like I
am going to pay attention during it. I never do. Neither does Kylani. I wonder if they would notice if we
just didn’t show up. We have places to hide where no one can get to.
“You’re going.” Chris states.
“Fuck off you ass hat,” I tell him.
I get absolutely no response. He ignores me completely. I hate him. He needs that shit-eating grin
punched off his stupid face. I am seriously thinking about punching him in the face. I think Kylani is too.
Maybe if we both punch him, we won’t have to go. Mykayla actually looks excited to go to this thing.
“She can’t go in your place,” Reecie says.
“You are supposed to be on my side, not theirs,” I tell him.
He just rolls his eyes and walks off. Why do I love him? I am beginning to question my choices. I just sit
there and pout. We have these meetings way too often. I know I will take Xaydyn; he can be a
distraction, and no one will get mad. Mom will love it. Then we won’t have a meeting.
“Hey let’s take the kids. They can be a distraction.” I whisper to Kylani.
“That is a fantastic idea.” She whispers back.
Ok, we have a plan. This is going to be great. They will be distracted by playing with the kids to have
this meeting. I tell Bryn through our minds, and she is on board. I even plan on bringing Mykayla’s
three. That’ll give them eight little ones to play with. Damn, I am smart. Uncle Zeus is always saying he
doesn’t get to see his grandbabies enough. Well, he is going to get to see them for hours today. He
can’t be mad at us for bringing his grandbabies. Mom will be ecstatic too. Even Uncle Poseidon will be
distracted. This is going to be great. We should bring the kids to every meeting.
“This is gonna be perfect,” Bryn says.
“I know. Glad I thought of it.” I tell her.
The three of us smile at each other and continue to get ready for this meeting. I still don’t want to go,
but if this works, then we won’t have to sit there and listen to everyone drone on and on about the most
boring shit ever. This plan has an added bonus. It’ll piss that ass-hat brother of mine off. This day
couldn’t be better. Make all the grandparents happy and piss off my brother. It’s perfect. We live to piss
him off. We take great pleasure in it. Now to finish getting ready and carry out our plan. I know the kids
will eat up all the attention. They love it when their grandparents are visiting. Plus, they don't get to visit
up here that often. This is going to work out perfectly for both sides. The kids and the grandparents will
both be happy.

We are all sitting in the rec room when Chris comes stomping in—literally stomping in. He looks like he
wants to kill someone. That family meeting was awful fast. They usually last most of the day or longer
sometimes. This one lasted barely two hours. Something must have happened. Chris sits by Rye, folds
his arms across his chest, and starts to pout. Yup, his sisters did something.
“Where is my princess?” Dustin asks.
“Why are you back so soon?” Tyrell asks.
“Well my sisters decided that they didn’t want to deal with this meeting so what do they do? They bring
all the grandbabies with them. That’s where your little princess is at.” Chris growls.
The entire room starts laughing. Damn, I know they hate going to those family meetings but taking all
the kids as a distraction. That was actually fucking genius. I have to give them credit. When they want
out of something, they will do anything.
“So I take it the meeting is a no-go,” Rye says, laughing.
“Five minutes, that’s all we got before they showed up with all nine grandbabies and that was the end
to the meeting.” Chris states.
“You have to admit that, it was ingenious of your sisters to pull that,” Xion says.
“That is not the point.” Chris cries.
Those two never cease to amaze me with the shit their minds can come up with. Only they would pull a
stunt like that. Really he should have expected something like this. They looked like they were planning
something before they left. I guess they were. I did see Mykenzie, Kylani, and Bryn whispering to each
other. When that happens, nothing good ever comes from it. That should have given me a clue that
they were planning something then.
“I wondered why it was so quiet around here,” Colin says.
“You’re right without the kids this house is eerily silent.” Nate comments.
“That should have been our first clue that something was up,” Draydon adds.
Damn, he is right. How did we not notice that the kids were not even here? We apparently are not very
good babysitters. Wait, Satyira usually watches the trio of trouble.
“You were in on this weren’t you?” Draydon asks Satyira.
“Yes, they told me not to say anything.” She says quietly.
Of course, they told her not to say anything. They knew she wouldn’t go against them. Damn, they
really had thought this plan through. I look at Leah. I see a smile spread across her face, but she
doesn't look at me. This makes me very suspicious. I wonder if she knew?
“I had no idea about their plan.” She says.
I am not sure if I believe her or not. I have a feeling all these women know about this. However, we
have no proof of it. Chris is still fuming while Nymyra just laughs at him. He is pouting. These three are
something else. I am sure the girls are patting themselves on their backs for this plan to work so well.
“You really should have seen this coming,” Blain says.
“Fuck off Blain,” Chris says.
Blain starts laughing at Chris, and they start to argue. It has absolutely no heat behind it because they
are friends. Now, if Blain and Rye were arguing, I would be more concerned. That might actually end in
death.
“I just want my little princess.” Dustin mumbles.
I want to say something, but I refrain. I know if this baby is a girl, I will be just as bad as Dustin. Kaleb is
not any better. I think any guy that has a daughter turns into a pile of mush when she is born. I watch
as the girls return with smirks on their faces. They look very proud of themselves. Chris glares at them
as they walk by, but they just ignore him. If they can come up with something like this to get out of a
meeting, then god only knows what kind of plan they can think up for other things. I am glad they are
on our side.
