The Apple of My Eye

Chapter 2148 How About Calling The Police

Chapter 2148 How About Calling The Police

Sheryl cast a glance at Clark and felt relieved when she found that he was asleep. She walked to the

door hurriedly and said to Damian, "Let's talk outside."

Sheryl walked out of the ward first. She needed to find a way to get Damian to leave. She didn't want

Clark to wake up and find her gone.

Without any hesitation, Damian followed Sheryl outside. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

"Why are you here?" Sheryl asked.

Damian stared at Sheryl affectionately and asked, "Sher, I've been looking for you for so long. Why

haven't you called me back?"

"You called?" Sheryl then realized that she had forgotten to charge her phone. She had been so

worried about Clark that she hadn't thought about much else.

"Sorry, my phone's battery was flat, so I didn't know you'd called me. By the way, why did you call me? I

have to take care of Clark. I don't want him to wake up without me there," Sheryl said gently.

Damian didn't really care about Clark's illness.

All he could think of right now was that Sheryl had lied to him. He didn't believe that Sheryl had just

accidentally forgotten to charge her phone. She was just being polite. She just didn't want to see him,

and she didn't want to talk to him. She'd deliberately turned her phone off to cut him off.

"Sher!" Damian said, seemingly going crazy. He suddenly stepped forward and tightly grabbed Sheryl's

shoulders. "Come with me. Let's go abroad. We'll live our lives like before. We'll be so relaxed, and

we'll be so happy."

Sheryl was stunned by this. She wasn't even able to stop him from grabbing her like that.

"Damian, let go of me!" Sheryl shouted angrily.

Damian didn't even respond. He was still immersed in his own thoughts. "Sher, Charles just lied to you.

He can't make you happy. He's with another woman for God's sake. You shouldn't even be giving him

another chance again, and you shouldn't be thinking about him! Please, come with me. I will be nice to

you. You're the only woman I'll ever love. I'll treat your children like they're mine."

"Slap!" This interrupted Damian's blabbering.

While Damian was in a trance, Sheryl quickly freed herself from his arms. She took a few steps back

and stood at a distance where she thought it was safe. Then she said angrily, "Damian, if you continue

to act like this, I'll call the security guard."

This was how Damian realized that Sheryl didn't care about him enough to even be polite to him.

With a bitter smile on his face, Damian said sarcastically, "Do you really think Charles loves you? He

was just playing with you, but you believe him, don't you?"

Sheryl lost her patience when Damian started insulting her relationship with Charles. She said in anger,

"Stop it! Just leave! I'm going in."

When Sheryl was about to turn around and enter the ward, Damian grabbed her arm and pulled her

back.

"You can't go anywhere. You belong to me and only me!" Damian had lost his mind. He was forcefully

holding Sheryl in his arms.

Sheryl angrily bit him on the arm.

It was the adrenaline rush that pushed Sheryl to do this. She was so worried that Clark would wake up

and find her gone. She just wanted Damian to leave, so she could go back to take care of her son.

Damian didn't expect Sheryl to bite him. He was stunned until he felt the pain on his arm. When he

realized what was happening, his eyes were already red.

To his mind, Sheryl had betrayed their love, and thus he blamed her for everything.

"What a bitch!" Damian suddenly grabbed Sheryl's hair and attempted to slap her.

"Slap!" Damian's hand was frozen in mid-air while someone had seemingly slapped him in the face.

The situation took a dramatic twist that neither of them had expected. Both Sheryl and Damian were

stunned.

Isla shook her aching hand and complained, "That was all my strength right there. My hand hurts."

Damian tried to pull Sheryl's arm with his hands but failed because he was blocked by Nick.

Sheryl was shocked by what had happened. She came to herself and said to Nick and Isla, "You came

just in time. I'll leave everything here up to you. I need to go inside and check on Clark."

Nick nodded and said, "Sher, please go inside. I'll take care of everything here."

Sheryl entered the ward without looking back. She had no attachment to Damian at all.

Before this, she had still treated Damian like her friend, but now, he was nothing but a stranger to her.

When Damian saw Sheryl leaving, he started shouting anxiously, "Sher, come back! Please! Don't

leave me!"

Nick looked at Damian with disgust in his eyes. He asked, "Do you even know what love is? You only

think you love Sheryl when all you really want to do is just manipulate her. You're nothing but selfish."

"He's right. I guess I really didn't know you that well, Damian. I didn't expect you to be capable of

hurting Sheryl. Do you really think we won't protect her? How dare you hurt her?" Isla flew into a rage.

The thought that Sheryl had almost been hurt by this man infuriated her.

Damian was still in so much pain that he couldn't hear them that well. He struggled as he tried to catch

up with Sheryl.

But Nick wouldn't let him go. He tightened his grip.

Isla was so angry that she kicked him. Seeing that Damian was so adamant that he wanted to run after

Sheryl, she said to Nick, "Why don't we call the police? So they can do something about this crazy guy

and save Sher all the trouble."

Nick nodded. Isla's suggestion was reasonable. They continued talking for a while. Just as they were

about to call the police, two strangers suddenly appeared, and they seemed to come from around the

corner.

"Miss and Sir, we're here to take Mr. Li. He isn't calm right now. My boss asked us to take him back for

now. Please forgive him for what he did. My boss will be responsible for him," one of the strangers said

politely.

Isla and Nick looked at each other and asked, "What do you mean? Who is your boss?"

"My boss..." Isla's phone rang before he could finish his words.

"It's from my boss. Please take the call," the man continued.

Isla took out her phone. It was from Duke.

Isla had saved Duke's number because his company and the Cloud Advertising Company had

coordinated several times.

Duke? Damian?

Suddenly, Isla recalled Phoebe telling her that she had seen Duke and Damian having dinner together

one time. 'Did they have something to do with each other?' thought Isla.

If that was true, then Duke unexpectedly coming to the Cloud Advertising Company in an attempt to

work with them was suddenly making sense.

They didn't know Duke, but he was Damian's cousin, which made him a viable partner to do business

with.

It wasn't difficult to put together.
