The Divorced Heiress Is Entering a New Marriage

Chapter 122

I returned to work the day after Logan let me stay home from work. He wasn’t wrong about me needing The day off. I had woken up with the worst hangover of my life. I couldn’t figure out how people drink like that on a regular basis.

I sat down at my desk and noticed a small envelope on my desk. I opened it. Inside was a plane ticket with my name on it to New York City. I stared at it. I looked into Logan’s office. My looking in there caught his attention, and I held up the envelope while giving him a confused look. He waved at me to come in, so

oot up and walked around my desk and through his door.

“I got word yesterday that we have a potential new client that would like to meet one on one before they sion with us. The board thought we were the best choice for that,” Logan explained as soon as I stepped

Into the office.

“Oh.” I said quietly. “So…it’s just you and me?”

“And one of our security guards,” Logan said quickly. “Ralph will be there with us the entire time.”

I breathed a small sigh of relief.

“We’ll leave Sunday night and return Wednesday. Does that work for you?” He asked.

“Yes, no problem.”

would have asked before they bought the ticket, but they were too impatient to wait,” Logan said.

I was taken aback by his explanations. He was being really sweet and understanding. Dylan really did make a difference the other night.

That’s okay,” I smiled at him. I turned and started to open the door.

“Are you feeling better?” Logan asked.

“Yeah,” I said with a smile. “Much.”

When Sunday afternoon rolled around, I stood at the end of my driveway, suitcase in hand, waiting for the company car that was to pick me up and take me to the airport. Instead, I was surprised to see Logan’s car pulling in instead.

“I thought a car was picking us up?” I said when he parked and stepped out.

He picked up my suitcase and put it in the trunk. “Uh, slight change of plans,” he said as he closed the trunk. “I don’t really like people from the company knowing where I live.”

I gave him a confused look and he quickly added: “You’re different. I can trust you.”

He walked around to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me. “Thank you,” I said as I stepped in

He got back in the driver’s side and backed out of the driveway. I snuck a glance at him. Who was this man, and what did he do with the Logan I had first met?

“Are we picking up Ralph?” I asked.

“No, he’s going to meet us there,” Logan said.

I began to wonder if he really did want to keep the location of his house secret, or if this was another sneaky way to check in on me somehow like he had been.

7 did call and offer a ride,” he added, as if hearing my thoughts. I know I promised he would be there the whole time with us but he insisted of driving himself. After this it’ll be all three of us at all times Well, except in our separate hotel rooms.

I just gave him a slow, small nod. I wasn’t entirely sure I believed him, but he did seem to be making an effort. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

As promised, Ralph was waiting for us at the entrance to the airport after we parked and caught the bus over. We made our way through security without any trouble, then located our gate. I looked at my phone. We still had a couple hours before we boarded. The three of us found empty seats and set our carry ons

next to us

I started to put the phone in my purse when it buzzed. I looked at the screen. It was from Dylan:

is Logan behaving himself?”

I let out a small laugh. “Yes,” I wrote back.

“Good. Let me know if he steps out of line,” he replied. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

“will”

A brief pause, then he sent: “Try to relax and enjoy yourself if you can. You need a break.”

“Yes mom,” I wrote back. Then, to sound a little less snarky, I added. “Thank you for everything. 🙂

He send a smiley emoji in return, then I put my phone in my purse. He was right, I needed a break.

I looked around and spotted a bar close by. “Excuse me.” I said to Logan and Ralph. “But it is 5.00 somewhere” I stood to head to the bar.

Logan looked at his watch. “It’s 5:00 here,” he said.

“Even better.”

Late that night, around 11pm, we finally arrived at our hotel. Ralph wasn’t able to book a room at the same hotel, so we bid him adieu after he made sure we got to ours safe and sound. I was taken aback by this fact, but it wasn’t like Logan and I were in the same room. We would be okay until Ralph met back up with us in the morning

“Good evening sir,” the hotel clerk greeted us as we walked to the counter. “Do you have a reservation?”

“Yes,” Logan said “There should be two. One for Logan Hatfield and one for Hazel Whitaker.”

The clerk typed in the computer. “Ah, yes, I see one for you Mr. Hatfield, and…” he typed a little more. “Oh.”

I didn’t like the sound of that “oh”

“What’s wrong?” I asked

“It looks like we accidentally double booked your roor Ms Whitaker The other reservation came in just a few minutes ago and claimed it.”

I closed my eyes. Just my luck.

“Do you have anything else available?” Logan asked.

The clerk typed. “I’m afraid not, we are completely booked for the entire week. I am so sorry.”

My heart pounded in my chest. What was I going to do? It was too late to go wandering around the streets of NYC to try and find a vacant room. I looked at Logan in a panic.

Logan turned to me, then looked back at the clerk. “Can you call around? See if there are any other hotels that have a room or two available?”

“Yes sir, absolutely,” he said.

Logan led me to a couple of couches that were in the waiting area. After several minutes, the clerk came walking over to us.

“Everyone nearby is booked as well. Your room does have a separate bedroom, sir, and a couch with a pull out bed. I’ll keep calling around to see if anyone else has rooms for the next few nights, but if you’d like to share the room tonight, I will be happy to offer a deep discount as an apology for the

inconvenience.

My eyes grew wide. I looked at Logan, who looked back at me. I swallowed a lump that had formed in my throat.

First the kiss, now I was spending the night in Logan Hatfield’s hotel room?
