The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2564

The old man was at once surprised and delighted as he exclaimed, "I-I can see now!"

Laura quickly asked, "What about the rest of your body? How do you feel?"

"Nothing much, but I feel like I have strength in my bones now, and my hip doesn't hurt anymore!"

Laura nodded—even if Frank did not cure the old man's kidney failure, easing his pain was still good too.

Add some medicinal herbs on top of that, the old man would be spared much agony for a while, and Frank would have done everything he could.

Soon, the middle-aged man returned with pen and paper, and Frank wrote down the prescription while instructing, "Remember, take this prescription twice each day, on the hour after lunch and dinner. Don't dump the sediments from the herbal broth-you can apply it to your hip as a heat pack to nourish your kidneys."

"Thank you so much!"

The middle-aged man bowed to Frank, even taking out money.

Frank quickly pushed him back, however. "I'm not that golddigger of a hospital chief. While I'm here to treat a patient, I don't have a license, so I can't charge you."

The middle-aged man kept trying, but since Frank was refusing either way, he sighed. "Why don't you stay for dinner?"

Frank smiled, "That's even less necessary. Just follow the prescription, and I assure you that the results will be clear as day. While his kidneys won't be as good as new, he'd still have the health of a middle-aged man, and there'd be less issues with his health."

"Thank you so much! But it really makes me feel guilty that you aren't taking my money or staying for dinner!"

Being an ordinary civilian and a really kind one at that, the middle-aged man felt apologetic.

Frank shook his head. "It's alright. I appreciate your kindness, but the best thing you can do is to save it for your old man."

Soon, they left the hut, where Troy had been waiting.

He clearly had not forgotten his bet with Frank and was chuckling. "Don't say it—I know, it didn't work. What else can you say now, brat?"

Even before Frank could respond, the middle-aged man strode up and snapped, "You haven't even seen a thing, and you're calling him incompetent?! I'll give it to you straight-my father is much better now, and his skill in medicine is astounding! If you have anything to say about that, I'll end it for you!" noveldrama

He was clearly not tolerating Troy's presence, as he picked up a brick, ready to beat him up.

Troy certainly did not dare to stand his ground, though he was shouting insults even as he quickly turned and ran. "Just you wait, brat! I'll make you pay for your malpractice!"

Frank simply ignored him, and after saying goodbye to the middle-aged man, he headed toward the village with Laura and Jada.

While they did, Jada was snorting indignantly "Come to think of it, not having a medical license hurts. See? Even someone like Troy Layton could use it as leverage! That

doesn't apply to you, but anyone else would be screwed."

Frank smiled in wry amusement. "It's obvious that you don't understand the business. It's true that I'm a rare exception, but most who don't have a medical license are snake oil salesmen!

"Even those who have studied Draconian traditional medicine seriously would not have many issues getting a license, as it has a

modern medicine. It doesn't have the public's approval because those snake oil salesmen failed to swindle everyone and are trying to affect policies by becoming keyboard warriors."
