Chapter 13 – Doctor’s Appointment LAURA
It has been 3 days since that she-wolf smacked me with her claws out, but one of the scratches has not
healed properly and still shows a scar from next to my eye and over my cheek. I haven’t spoken to
Liam yet, for some reason, it just hurts when I think of it. I never meant to fall in love with him, but now I
am doing my best to push it away.
I have an appointment at the hospital today. I am about halfway through my pregnancy, and they want
to d o an ultrasound of my belly. Also if I want to know they can tell me the gender. I walk out of my
room to g o downstairs for an early breakfast. I have done that the last few days, so I don’t run into
Liam. After eating I go up to my room to get ready to leave. When I am ready I go to leave the house,
just as I am about to leave the front door opens and Liam and Mack come in. 1
“Hey, you are up early. You going out?” Mack asks, I shrug my shoulders.
“Just going for a walk,” I say without looking at Liam.
“Don’t you have a doctor’s appointment today?” Liam asks me.
“Yeah.”
“Give me 15 minutes to shower, I’ll go with you.” I still don’t look at him but shake my head.
“No, it’s fine. I am sure you have other things to do.”
“Laura.” He begins but I stop him.
“It’s fine. See you later.” I say and leave.

I walk slowly on my way to the pack hospital, it isn’t too far to walk, but still, some way to go. After
walking for about 15 minutes a car drives by and stops and Liam steps out.
“Get in Laura, I will drive you there, it’s too far to walk being pregnant.”
“I told you it was fine, just go home Liam.” Before I can say more I am being lifted from the ground and
carried towards the car.
“Put me down,” I demand
“Get in the car.” He demands back, though without using the king’s power of command.
“Fine, put me down,” I tell him and he does, but with the effort, I can react he his having a hand on my
cheek
“It hasn’t healed?” he asks with concern. I had managed not to show it to him before now.
“As you see, I am going to ask the doctor if he can tell me why.” He doesn’t answer but nods and opens
the door to the passenger seat and I get in.
It doesn’t take long driving there and doctor Marshall sees us just as we walk in and comes over to us
right away.
“My king.” He bows his head and Liam nods back. “Miss Perl, good to see you. If you come with me,
we will check your pups right away.” “Thank you, doctor.”
“It is no problem, have you decided if you want to know the gender of them.” I see Liam look curiously
at u
S.
“I do, and I want to. Makes it easier.” The doctor smiles. Then looks at Liam.
“My king, are you coming into the room?” Liam looks at me clearly not knowing what I want,
“That’s miss Perl’s decision.” He answers and I shrug, I know he will hate sitting in the hall drawing
attention. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s fine, he can come. Not like I need my pants off this time.” The doctor smiles.
When we enter the room, the doctor first takes some blood, so he can check that my body gets what it
needs to have a healthy pregnancy. He tells me to go lay on the bed and I do as told, Liam is standing
by the door, but when I almost slip trying to get onto the bed, he is faster than the doctor and catches
me. H e helps me up without saying a word and stays close to the bed.
“I am sorry Miss Perl, did you hurt yourself?” The doctor sounds worried.
“No, I am just clumsy. I have nearly fallen down the stairs at home too.” Liam snaps his head in my
direction but doesn’t say anything.
“You need to be careful Miss Perl. You might be a wolf, but you will feel the pregnancy just as a human
would. Your body is built to carry pups, just as a human is to carry a human child, that is why when a
wolf gets mated to a human, we always worry more about the pregnancy, pups grow faster than
humans, and that is hard and sometimes painful for a human. But for a wolf, you feel it as a normal
pregnancy. But you are also carrying twins. So that’s just harder on the body.” | nod my head
“I will be more careful, I promise.”
“Good, now let’s see your pups.”
Doctor Marshall pulls forward a small screen. Ask me to pull my shirt above my belly, being halfway
through I have a small belly now and you can easily see I am pregnant if I don’t wear a hoodie. I put the
cold gel on me and then takes the stick beginning to look at what it shows on the screen. I am silent.
“Everything looks to be just normal, as you can see one of them is bigger than the other but that isn’t
unusual. Let’s see what gender we have.” He moves the stick over my stomach and smiles. 1
“The bigger one here, his little boy, let us see if we can see the other one.” He is silent while moving
around with the stick.
“And there you are, you have quite a protective brother already, don’t you.” He speaks and I wonder if
they can actually hear him.
“This little girl is well protected by her brother already.”
“it’s a girl?”
“Oh yes.” He smiles at me.
“One boy and a little girl.” He says but I am not listening anymore, I just look at the screen. I am pulled
out of my thoughts when he says.
“I will make you a picture that you can take with you.”
“Thank you, Doctor.” He smiles and hands me a towel.
“If you clean your belly and sit up I will go get the picture and blood results.” I nod my head and do as
he says as he leaves the room, leaving me and Liam alone. He doesn’t say anything but just looks at
me, offering me a hand to get off the bed.
“Thank you.”
“Your welcome.” He doesn’t say more but moves to stand where he first did when we came leaving the
chair to me.
The doctor comes backhanding me a picture and says my blood results are just perfect. “Doctor. I had
an erhm, incident the other day. Got three scratches over my cheek. But only two of them healed
completely and disappeared.” The doctor sits down in front of me, checking my face and a frown finds
its way onto his face.
“Was this made by another wolf’s claws?” I look at him and my eyes flicker to Liam. I don’t want to
course problems.
“Danielle did it. She was visiting, and for some reason thought it was in her right to try stake a claim.”
Liam says without blinking. I guess others know about his visitors. Doctor Marshall nods.
“It is not the first time I see scars like this one. It seems that some of the she-wolves find it okay to wear
a thin layer of some sort of liquid silver above their nail polish that way it does not hurt themselves. But
scratching someone the victim gets in direct contact with it.” He looks at me looking sorry.
“I am afraid this one never will disappear completely, it might fade, but will always be there.” I nod my
head. The room suddenly feels suffocating and I look at Liam. He is furious, his eyes are pitch black.
None of us say anything before he starts to move. He looks at me, handing me his car keys
“Wait in the car.” Then he leaves. I look at the doctor and we both breathe out again.
“The king is very protective of you.”
“He is a pain in the ass,” I say and Doctor Marshall laughs.
“Alright. I think that was it, here is your picture. Remember what I said about being careful. And you can
call anytime needed Miss Perl.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
I get up and walk towards the exit. Getting outside Liam is nowhere to be seen, but I think to myself
that with the anger he so clearly got into, it is better to just do as he asked, and I go wait in the car.
After a little while, the driver’s door opens, but instead of Liam, it is Mack that sits in.
“Liam mindlinked me. Asked me to come and drive you home.” He tells me. I don’t say anything.
“How did your appointment go?” He asks and I smile as he begins to drive home.
“One boy and one girl.”
“Wow, that is amazing, congrats Laura.”
“Thank you.” We drive in silence for a while.
“Mack?” he looks at me briefly letting me know he heard me.
“Is Liam okay?” I know Liam must have said something to him.
“He is angry Laura, and he blames himself.” He doesn’t say more and I don’t ask, and a few minutes
later we are home and I go to rest a little.
