The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2871

Dahlia’s fans actually dare to dream of her marrying into their own kind of old money without weighing her own value.

“I bet it’s gotta be some daughter from the inner circle, you know, someone on their level. Otherwise, the Harris family wouldn’t give her the time of day. Y’all are seriously underestimating the old guard in that family.”

“Yeah, if I had a son that sharp, I’d naturally want a daughter-in-law who’s his match.”

“It’s the 21st century, folks, and you’re still playing by these medieval rules. Maybe the guy himself doesn’t even think like that, and y’all are acting like wicked in-laws already! And saying Dahlia’s not good enough – do you even know her status in the dance world?

She’s returned from abroad with her reputation gold-plated, a rising star in the scene. Yet, in your mouths, it’s like she’s nothing. She’s a self-made success, and I say she’s more than good enough for your Mr. Harris. Sounds like someone’s just bitter seeing others doing better than themselves.”

“Ha, we’re just being realistic here. Who’s richer than them? We’re just ordinary folks with our monthly salaries, and minding their business is really pointless.”

“Isn’t there a single employee from the Harris Group on this vast internet? They should know who the boss’s wife is, right?”

But the Harris Group folks didn’t actually know who their boss’s wife was. Nolan had a whirlwind wedding. He simply instructed the IT department to update the website with a notice congratulating their CEO on his marriage the next day.

Plus, every employee got a hefty bonus because of the boss’ good news. Who would tak the money and still run their mouths off?

Everyone knew those jobs at the Harris Group were hot commodities. Only by holding onto their positions there could they hope for future benefits, and people out there were breaking down doors to get into the Harris Group. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Dahlia hadn’t expected that giving Nolan space to think would result in news of his marriage.

As she scrolled through the announcement, she swept everything off her desk in a fit of rage. Even her agent stepped into the chaos with a sense of dread.

“Let’s get this mess cleaned up quick. We can’t have Dahlia tripping over anything – her feet are worth their weight in gold.”

But Dahlia didn’t seem to care one bit as she slumped onto the couch, “What’s so precious about my feet? I didn’t even hold onto my man, so what good is talking about anything else?”

Sienna hurried over to sit beside her and tried to offer comfort, “Maybe it’s just wild

rumors, you know? He’s Mr. Harris, for crying out loud. How could he get married without anyone knowing? Don’t you have his number? One call and you’d know if he’s really married or not.”

Besides, it just didn’t seem right. Nolan hadn’t been with another woman for would he suddenly find someone to marry?

She had a hunch there was more to the story than met the eye.

But Dahlia was too angry to listen to anyone.

Before anyone could tidy up, she sprang to her feet, grabbed her car keys, and headed for the door.

Sienna scrambled to stop her, “Where the heck do you think you’re going? Do you have any idea how many paparazzi are out there waiting to snap your picture? They’re just waiting for you to lose it and to make you front-page news!”

Dahlia shoved her aside fiercely, “I just can’t keep my cool, okay? Let them take their shots. I’ve been faithful to this man for years. Just days ago, we were watching a movie together, and suddenly he tells me he’s married to someone else? And I’m the last to know? Don’t you think that’s just pathetic?”
