Chapter 49 What a Spendthrift
Chapter 49 What a Spendthrift
Ashley suddenly said, "I think the three cooks are mediocre. How about I being you cook?"
Conrad was shocked and asked her, "I want to run a restaurant, but you only know how to make instant
noodles. Should I change my menu with instafamous instant noodles?"
"No, that kind of instant noodle shop is to cheap, and I am a real chef! I will show you and surprise you
tonight!"
Ashley seemed to mean it. She got up and left the restaurant, without anyone knowing what she was
going to do.
"Miss Shawn seems a little..." Amara paused.
Conrad smiled, "Just let her do it. Continue the interviews for a few more days. The restaurant is
working now, and there is no hurry to make a big change. After the interviews, choose the best
interviewee, or hire several of them."
Amara nodded. It was the safest way.
The time tickled by. Conrad, Coleman and Amara were having dinner in a house in the community.
They ordered take-outs, and they looked like exquisite.
Just then Ashley called Conrad and asked if he was at the restaurant. She had arrived with her
delicious food.
"Well, come to the Room 101, Jadeite Garden Community. We are having dinner, join us." Conrad
didn't care much. He just thought he would have instant noodles for an extra.
After a while, Ashley came with a hot mess tin. When she entered, she wondered why the building was
dark except for the first floor where Mr. Conrad lived. It looked a little scary.
"There are so many rooms. And it is bothering to climb the stairs or take the life, so we all live the two
floors down." Conrad said idly.
"Wait a minute," Ashley said, grasping the point, "You mean you bought the whole building? How many
have you bought?"
"The whole five buildings are Mr. Porter's!" Amara said proudly.
"Keep your head down." Conrad said, motioning to keep low-profile, but the aura of richness couldn't
be hidden.
Ashley's eyes suddenly widened in surprise and she stared at Conrad.
"What's the matter? Any problem?" asked Conrad.
"You bought the whole building? Are you that rich?" Ashley was surprised.
"It's all right. Have you had dinner? Come and join us." Conrad pulled out a chair for her and didn't see
her as a chef candidate. As for Ashley's conditions, she could be a internet celebrity, not a chef.
"Try the marinated pig's feet I made!" This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Ashley opened the box, and the aroma of the meat filled the air, which made them drool. Moreover, the
dark red color of the pig's feet was attractive. The three of them took one immediately.
"Wow, it is so yummy!"
As soon as Coleman had one bite, he couldn't help praising it. The marinated feet were very soft and
delicious and they were neither too sweet nor greasy. They had never had such delicious pig's feet
before.
Coleman ate one and eagerly nibbled on another, as if the feet had some magic power and he would
not stop until he felt full.
Even Amara, who was not fond of meat, could not resist the temptation of pig's feet and ate one. The
meat was not greasy but delicious.
Conrad came to taste it too, and felt it was so delicious that he couldn't help taking another one. The
meat and the soup were amazing.
If he had to give a score on this dish, it would definitely be a perfect score. Except for those who didn't
eat it, no one would be able to refuse this delicious staff.
"Did you really cook this?"
Conrad was surprised and couldn't relate the savory marinated feet to the sexy and beautiful Ashley.
"Of course, I've spent the whole afternoon cooking it and I even made a video. Check it out."
Ashley turned on her mobile phone. In the video, Ashley was cooking the pig's feet in a kitchen, which
proved that she did make the pig's feet, but it seemed that she was not skilled at it, and she finished it
under the video guidance of an old man.
"You cooked it for the first time and it tastes so delicious?" Conrad asked in surprise.
"Right. It is my first time to cook it. I asked my grandpa to guide me, and with the Shawn family's
unique sauce recipe, it definitely tastes good!" Ashley said proudly.
"You're such a genius!" Conrad suddenly reminded of a famous saying from a TV series, which was
suitable to describe Ashley.
Ashley smirked; her head held high, proud like a princess.
"Since you recognized my cooking skills, can we talk about the salary now? I want millions a year, a car
no less than 500,000 yuan, and a residential building as my dormitory." Ashley opened her mouth wide.
As Conrad's assistant, Amara refused Ashley's conditions, "How can this work? There has never been
a chef who can earn millions a year for just one dish."
"Who said I only knew one dish? I have made two more dishes for you."
Ashley then opened the mess tin, revealing the food inside. There were marinated duck feet and
chicken wings. They might be cooked in the same pot with the marinated pig feet, as they smelt the
same and tasted the same.
"They were made in the same method. Do you only make marinated food?" Amara asked.
Ashley said squarely, "Yes, because it doesn't require too many skills or experience. I follow the recipe
from my grandfather and let it be cooked in a pressure cooker, and food is done. This was the imperial
recipe. Even the Empress and Princess loved it."
She made no secret of it. For a novice cook, only dishes, marinated meat for example, which didn't
require many cooking skills, could be prepared in a flash.
Amara put her hand on her forehead. She was so tired of talking to Ashley.
