Chapter 4942
547 had long hated the organization that controlled his destiny, and he had been hoping that Charlie could find the location where his own line of dead soldiers was stationed so that he could rescue his wife, children, and family members at the same time. So, he naturally would provide his full cooperation to Merlin.
Merlin nodded, and without talking too much nonsense, he went straight to the point and said, "The immediate task at hand is to find a way to determine the location of your residence on the map. Before that, I wonder if you have any valuable clues that you can share with me?"
547 shook his head and said, "Chief Lammy, to tell you the truth, I've been thinking about this issue for a while, but the organization is extremely cautious and didn't leave me with any valuable information at all."
Merlin smiled slightly, took out the major natural disaster data that he had sorted out, and asked him, "547, how old are you this year?"
547 hurriedly said, "Chief Lammy, I should probably be between thirty-six to thirty- eight years old this year."
Merlin asked curiously, "How did you calculate your age?"
547 explained, "There is a kind of 'calendar' that is quietly recorded among the dead soldiers. We recorded time roughly based on our own work and rest, but there is no absolute reference standard, so there are still some errors."
Merlin nodded and said, "Let's count it as thirty-eight years old, then."
With that said, he sorted out the major natural disasters in the past thirty-five years, and as he was looking at the data, he asked, "Have you ever moved or changed your place of residence from the time when you were born to the last time you left the residence?"
"No." 547 replied, "The place where I was born is an underground fortification, and I don't know where or how deep it is. I haven't moved in so many years."
Merlin asked again, "As far as you can remember, have you ever experienced a very strong and big earthquake?"
"A big earthquake?" 547 thought for a moment and said, "There was a relatively strong earthquake, but that was many years ago."
"Many years ago?" Merlin asked again, "How many years has it been?"
547 frowned and thought for a moment before saying, “It has been about twenty years, but my timeline may have a certain deviation from reality, so there might be a difference within two years."
Merlin nodded and then reached out and crossed out 2008 Oskia, 2011 Japan, and several items with a
closer timeline before saying, "Inet
that case, the surrounding areas of Japan as well as the central and southwestern part of Oskia can be excluded."
With that said, he saw the data on 2004 Indonesia and asked, "Did the earthquake in your memory feel very strong?"
547 said without hesitation, "It was very strong, and it even caused great damage
to our garrison at that time. Some people were injured, and there were even some deaths."
Merlin's eyes brightened up, and he said excitedly, "That might be the Indonesian tsunami in 2004."
He then took out the map, found the location of the epicenter of the Indonesian tsunami on it, then muttered under his breath, "The epicenter at that time was in western Indonesia, and the
earthquake was felt in many vel
countries and regions. However, since the earthquake felt relatively strong at your location, it should be right around the Indian Ocean and possibly even in Indonesia."
"However, in 2003, Japan's Hokkaido and Solomon Islands had an earthquake of a magnitude of 7 or higher. In 2005, there was also a magnitude 7.8 earthquake. Your timeline is not precise, so there may be some deviation here."
With that said, he looked at 547 and asked, "Do you have any other clues about that earthquake?"
"Other clues?" 547 was silent for a moment and then shook his head as he said, "There are no clues left. Although the earthquake was rather frightening, no one died, after all, so we didn't take it too seriously."
Merlin looked at the map and asked, “If the earthquake that you're talking about is that big Indonesian tsunami, since you lived underground, was there any flooding after the earthquake?"
"Flooding..." 547 pondered for a moment then suddenly remembered something and blurted out, "There was indeed a flood incident at that time, and the entire premise was filled with at least twenty centimeters of stagnant water. We later relied on the water pump to pump the water away."
When Merlin heard this, he could not help but ask him excitedly, "Was the waternoveldrama
salty?"
What do you think?
