The Persistent CEO Wants A Baby

Chapter 17 When are we meeting him?

“Good morning sir.” The secretary stood up and greeted as Aiden and Wayne walked past her desk.

“What are my schedules for this morning?”

Wayne checked the iPad in his hand.

“You have a private meeting with Mr Norman now.”

“Alright. Where is it taking place?” Aiden said even if it sounded suspicious. Mr Norman coming to see him privately and so early.

“He is already waiting in your office.”Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Fine. Let’s go.”

They both took the elevator and went to Aiden’s office.

They opened the door and met Mr Norman already waiting for him on the chair.

“Good morning Mr Turner.” He stood up and said.

“Morning Mr Norman.”

“Please, have your seat.” Aiden said even if Mr Norman had already sat before.

He sat down on his swivel chair as he unbotton his suit jacket.

“I know you must be wondering what I’m doing here so early.”

“I believe you’re here to talk business.”

“Actually, it is not really about business.” Mr Norman replied in a smile.

“Really? I hope it isn’t serious then?”

“No, it isn’t.”

“Okay. Before we start, what should I offer you? Coffee or tea.”

“There’s no need for that as I won’t be spending much time here.”

“Alright, I’m all ears.”

“Aiden, you know aside from being business partners, you’re also like a son to me.”

Aiden nodded, paying more attention.

“That’s why today I have come to ask a favour from you, not as business partners but as a father.”

“Aiden, please marry my daughter.”

Aiden flinched back a bit, including Wayne who was also in the office.

“Is this about Blossom?” Aiden asked lowly.

“Yes. She loves you so much and is ready to do anything for you.”

“Yesterday night, do you know she refused to eat dinner because of you?”

Aiden scoffed, like he cares.

“She loves you, why don’t just you love her back? Like you used to. She is a sweet girl who needs to be loved.”

“You call that bitchy daughter of yours sweet? I don’t mean to pick any offence but you and I know your daughter isn’t one bit sweet.”

“If it is about her attitude, I promise you she would change. She is ready to change for you.”

“Well, I’m not ready to accept that change. She should find someone else to marry her.” Aiden said getting irritated.

“It is you she wants. Why don’t you get that fact?”

“I don’t think so. The only fact we won’t be getting here is if you don’t stop talking about this then I would be forced to throw you out of my office.” Anger was evident in Aiden’s voice as he spoke.

“You would chase me out of your office?”

“If I’m pushed to.” Aiden gritted his teeth.

How dare he think he could come into his office early in the morning to ask him to getting married to his daughter?

“Then I guess you leave me no other choice. If you don’t get married to my daughter, I’ll be forced to withdraw my interest from the upcoming project.” Mr Norman said and left the office in anger.

Aiden scoffed, not shaken by his words.

He doesn’t care if he withdraws from the project. He could go to hell if he wants to.

What the heck does he think of himself?

Wayne who has been staring at the whole thing came to him.

“What are you going to do now?”

“Nothing. I don’t care if he withdraws.”

“Do I have any other meeting today?” Aiden said trying to control his anger.

“Yea….”

“Cancel all of them.”

Blossom’s dad just ruined his morning.

“Including the meeting with grandfather?” Wayne asked with raised brow.

“Except that one.”

“Okay.” Wayne tapped on his iPad.

The door opened and Tihana came in.

“Good morning sir.” Aiden didn’t respond.

“Sir, these are the new methods I’ve been working on.”

“What’s my business with it?”

Tihana stared at her boss with surprise.

“You asked me to bring it to you yesterday sir.”

“Yesterday? And you’re just bringing it to me now?” He snapped at her and she flinched back.

“Drop it on my table and get out.” He said again and Tihana did as instructed. She scurried out immediately.

“Get me my morning coffee.” Aiden ordered.

“Yes boss.” Wayne shook his head and left to get the coffee.

******

Tihana came out of the restroom and sat heavily on the bed.

She came back from work some minutes ago and was now preparing for the dinner with Aiden’s grandfather.

She creamed and stood up to wear her clothes.

“Are you done?” Diana said walking into the room.

“Yes, almost but I’m having a hard time picking the one to wear. Can you help me with that?”

Diana sighed and came to stand behind her. She placed her hand on Tihana’s shoulder and Tihana turned to face her.

“Are you really sure you want to do this? I could…”

“Don’t bother.” Tihana chipped in.

“We could look for another way to fix this.”

“I wish it was possible but we can’t do anything. My job is at stake here.” Tihana explained and Diana sighed.

“There will always a way to fix it.”

“I signed a contract whereby the sum of $5 million has been paid into my account and if I fail my part of the contract, there will be a bigger consequence. You and I know how Aiden Turner can be.”

“Now, I feel more guilty.”

“Aww, you don’t have to feel bad. It’s just for a year and it will be over.”

“Will you stop that already? I will feel bad the more, knowing for a fact that I was the one supposed to do that and not the other way round.” Diana said as she hit Tihana on the hand, playfully though.

“Alright, I’ll stop only if you help me pick the one to wear.” Tihana smiled at her.

“They’re all beautiful that I don’t know what to pick out for you.” Diana stared at the clothes lined on the bed and Tihana hummed.

“Why are you even dressing to impress him?”

“He specifically warned me to dress well. I wouldn’t want to get on his bad side.”

Diana sighed and placed a finger on her cheek as her eyes roamed round the clothes.

“I will pick that one.” Diana pointed to a blue gown. She took it from the bed and gave it to Tihana.

“Wear this. It looks perfect.”

Tihana checked the gown out. It was a knee length flare gown.

“Okay, I’ll be right back.” Tihana said and entered the restroom.

She came out seconds later.

“I found you a heel to match your dress, but before that, let’s get make your face match.” Diana joked and Tihana laughed.

“Sit on the bed.” Tihana did as instructed and Diana started applying makeup on her face.

“Aren’t you done? Remember, it’s just a dinner and not a wedding ceremony.”

“Yeah, yeah I know. I’m done already.” Diana gave her a mirror.

“See, you look beautiful.” Diana said in a smile.

“Thank you.”

Diana went to bring out the red heels she chose for her. Tihana wore the heels and took a red purse. She put the things she might be needing including some dollar notes, just incase.

“This is what I call a beautiful Tihana.” Diana complimented and Tihana smiled.

“Who is going to pick you up? Or are you going there yourself?” Diana asked as she sat on the bed.

“I don’t know.”

“Didn’t he give you an address?”

“He didn’t.”

“Aiden Turner is such a jerk. How does he expect you to get there?”

Tihana didn’t reply as she just silently left to the sitting room. She was just as confused as Diana.

Diana sighed and followed her.

The doorbell rang getting the attention of the two ladies.

“I will get the door.”

“Please, is this where Tihana Scott stays?” The man at the door asked, looking around the place.

“Yes. Who are you?” Diana asked back.

“I’m her driver to the dinner. Sir Aiden asked me to pick her.”

“Okay, I’ll get her.” Diana closed the door and faced Tihana.

“He sent a driver to pick you up.”

Tihana took her purse and walked to Diana at the door. She gave her a peck and left.

Diana sighed as she went to sit on the couch, going into thoughts.

********

Wayne came to sit in the midst of grandfather and Aiden.

“She isn’t here.”

“When is your girlfriend coming?” Grandfather asked as he stared keenly at his grandson.

“She isn’t my girlfriend. She is just my staff.” Aiden scoffed.

“Who would soon be your baby mama.” Grandfather added.

“Why didn’t you come with her in the first place?” Grandfather said again.

“We don’t stay together.”

“But don’t worry, she would be here any moment.” Aiden checked his wristwatch.

“Wayne, call the chaffeur.” Aiden ordered and Wayne stood up as he brought out his phone.

The doorbell rang and Wayne went to check on the door.

Wayne came back seconds later with Tihana behind him.

“Good evening sir.” She greeted both grandfather and Aiden in a little bow.

“Evening lady. Is she the one?” Grandfather said turning to Aiden.

“Yes.” Aiden grumbled.

“Have your seat, Miss.” Grandfather offered in a smile. Tihana sat on the couch near grandfather nervously.

She has been nervous ever since she entered into the house.

Grandfather noticed this and smiled.

“Feel at home young lady as this would soon be part of your home. So, what’s your name?”

“Tihana Scott.”

“Wow, what a beautiful name for a beautiful damsel.” Grandfather smiled at her and she smiled back. Aiden scoffed as he scrolled on his phone.

“I heard from my beloved grandson here that you work in his company.”

“Beloved grandson indeed.” Aiden muttered under his breath.

“Yes sir.” Tihana took a glance at her boss.

“Grandfather, call me grandfather.” Grandfather said in a smile and Tihana nodded.

“Tell me about yourself.”

“There’s nothing much to know about me. I’m just a lady who wants the best future for herself and by so doing, needs to work hard.”

“That’s awesome. What about your family?”

“My mother is dead.”

“Sorry about that.” Grandfather sympathized.

“There’s nothing to be sorry about besides I’ve gotten over it.” Tihana tried not to break down as she said this.

“Don’t you have a father?”

Tihana hesitated for a while as she herself doesn’t know if she has a father or not. What was she going to say to grandfather?

“Umm I….”

“Can we now have dinner? I’m getting farmished already and your conversation doesn’t seem to end.” Aiden interrupted her and she sighed in relief.

He just unknowningly saved her.

“When will you stop showing people around you that you’re so irresponsible?”

“Call me whatever you want grandfather. One thing still remains that I’m hungry and your conversation is making it worse else you want me to have dinner on my own.”

“You wouldn’t dare touch my food without I asking you to.” Grandfather faced Tihana.

“Will you like for us to have dinner now?”

“Yes sir.”

“Are you sure? I hope you didn’t agree because of your boss?”

“Of course not grandfather. I’m also hungry.”

“Okay. Let’s go and have dinner.”

They all stood up and went to the dinning table which was already set for them by the maids.

Wayne made to follow them but his phone rang. He went outside to answer it.

“Hey Diana! What’s up?”

“I’m fine and you?”

“Good. Any update?”

“Are we working on a case?”

“Maybe because of what I have to do for you.”

“Yeah. Speaking of that is the actual reason I called.”

“Okay, what is it?”

“I spoke to my father about you and he asked to see you.”

“Wow! This is is kind of serious.”

“Any problem?”

“It’s just that I don’t know what to say to him when I meet him. What if he ask me how we met? You know things like that.”

“You’re right.” Diana breathed out.

“Okay, this is what we’ll do. I will send you a message that will help you answer it. Expect it tomorrow.”

“When are we meeting him?”

“I’ll inform you when I’ve concluded.”

“Alright. See you then.”

Diana disconnected the call. Wayne smiled and went back inside.
