The Reclaimed Rose (Annalise and Steven)

Chapter 778

Steven's company was doing well. Ever since he partnered with Zane, his income increased greatly. He could easily afford jewelry without concern.

Steven asked, "Is this enough?"

Now that Jessica earned her income, she understood how difficult it was to earn a living. But on second thought, since Steven was willing to spend on her, she decided to let him spend his money.

With that thought, Jessica pointed at several other sets of jewelry.

Steven immediately said, "I'll take them all. Pick some for the kids."

Jessica wanted to choose expensive jewelry that would retain its value, but they weren't suitable for children. Her heart raced, and Jessica knew the jewelry she had picked out before added up to tens of millions. She reminded herself to be content.

She picked out some gold accessories for the children, and Steven paid for them all. Jessica may not love Steven, but she was fond of him because of the jewelry he bought. She exclaimed, "You're amazing."

Steven remarked, "When I run out of money, I hope you'll still want to be with me." Jessica nodded and said, "I promise I will."

Upon hearing that, Steven's mood improved. After paying for everything, Steven asked, "Should we meet Zachary at the kindergarten now?"

For the sake of money, Jessica was willing to temporarily put work aside. She replied, "Sure."

Steven was surprised by how cooperative Jessica was. He smiled and said, "Let's go, then."

When they arrived at Zachary's kindergarten, Steven introduced himself to the teachers as Zachary's father and asked to see him.

When Zachary saw Steven, his face fell.noveldrama

"We talked about it yesterday. I'm in school now; why did you come again?" Steven calmly said, "I want to bring you home with me. From today onward, you, me, Jessica, and Cody-the four of us can live together."

"There's no point. I don't want to do the same thing again," said Zachary.

Zachary had experienced that before, and he didn't understand what Steven was looking forward to. Steven remembered what had happened in the past, too. And Steven felt very guilty.

"I can promise that won't happen again! Jessica will treat you well, and so will I."

"I'm living a good life now. You don't have to worry about me; please feel free to live happily as a family," Zachary said plainly, not showing any sign of interest in living with Steven.

Then, Zachary turned to his teacher and said, "We're done. Let's go back inside."

Steven wanted to convince Zachary, but Zachary left without hesitation. Sensing Steven's disappointment, Jessica patted him on the shoulder and apologized. "I'm sorry. It's all my fault."

Steven was slightly dissatisfied with Jessica, but when he heard her words, he didn't know what to say After a long pause, he replied, "Lam mostly responsible for it. Back then, if I knew to care for him and ove him, he would still share a good relationship with me now?"

Jessica looked away; she had no interest in pleasing other people. The only thing that could pique her interest was her business. After offering Steven some half-hearted responses, she used work as an excuse and went home.

Lately, Jessica has had a lot more illustrations to complete than usual. On top of that, being pregnant made things even harder. Jessica didn't have any time to waste.
