The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 1027

It was only at that moment that Felix remembered to think about why the Skeletal Demon had come here in the first place. The Shepherd Ghost hadn't explained it

before.

Stepping outside, the scene that greeted him left him utterly stunned.

On both sides of the street, people were racing back and forth at incredible speeds. Some even leaped into the air, pushing their agility to the limits. The whole display was chaotic, and Felix had no idea what was going on.

Suddenly, something caught his eye. He sharply turned his head to one side, barely catching a glimpse of something that flashed past. It was so fast it defied description, but judging by its size-about as big as a cat-he could be certain it wasn't human.

"Take a closer look at what's in front of each house," Ophelia said.

Felix snapped out of his daze and scanned the entrances to the houses. Sure enough, a bowl was placed outside every door. What was in the bowls made him pause. It was a simple serving of steak, something one could find anywhere.

"Ophelia, what's going on here?" Felix asked, confused.

Ophelia chuckled. "This is the Skeletal Demon's purpose for coming here. He wanted to capture the Seekstorm Beast."

Without waiting for him to ask more questions, Ophelia explained, "The origins of the Seekstorm Beast are mysterious. People in Martial City only learned about it when Yusri, the founder of the Maximus family, had one following him.

"The beast has no combat abilities whatsoever, but it's unbelievably fast, making it incredibly difficult to catch. However, once captured, it will acknowledge its captor as its master.

"Somewhere along the way, a Seekstorm Beast showed up here in this

Ghosttown. Most of the time, it stays hidden, and no one knows where it goes. But on the night of a full moon, it comes out, and it absolutely loves steak. As long as there's steak, it'll be drawn to the scent, giving people a chance to catch it."

Felix had never heard of the Seekstorm Beast before. It seemed like Martial City still held many secrets.

"What exactly can this Seekstorm Beast do?" he asked.

"It can find medicinal herbs. No matter how rare or precious the herb, the Seekstorm Beast can locate it.noveldrama

"That's why it's so

the

so valuable. Even if

someone isn't an alchemist, they can sell the herbs to a medicinal guild or auction them off. With that kind of wealth, obtaining resources would be easy to come by. Who wouldn't be tempted?"

Tempted? Felix was more than tempted. He was practically itching to try. If the Seekstorm Beast could really locate herbs, then even those thought to be completely extinct might still be within reach. The possibilities were endless.

"Do you want to give it a shot?" Ophelia asked with a playful smile.

Seeing her nod, Felix didn't hold back. He observed for a moment, tracked the movements of the Seekstorm Beast, and bolted after it, activating his Lone Paragon technique to boost his speed.

Ten minutes later, he returned, completely out of breath and looking defeated.

"Good grief, who could possibly catch that thing? No wonder the Skeletal Demon keeps coming here every full moon. He was probably just hoping for a lucky break."

Ophelia laughed heartily. "Exactly. I knew you wouldn't give up until you tried for yourself. Even experts at the Transcendent Realm can't catch it."

Suddenly, Felix shot her a curious look. "Wait... you can't catch it either?"

Ophelia scrunched up her nose. "Why would waste my time? It's useless to me. Besides, even for me, it'd take some effort. It's just not worth it. And anyway, if someone else caught it, they'd be its master. It's not like I could just hand it over to you."

Letting go of the idea for now, Felix made a silent vow. One day, when he reached the level of Grandmaster Realm, he'd return to Ghosttown and try again. The

Seekstorm Beast's potential was too incredible to give up on.

The next day, Ophelia left early. After getting his phone back, Felix prepared to leave as well. But before heading out, he made sure to give Deborah a call to let her know he was alive and well.
