Chapter 728
Hendrix was currently in Halbort.
Erwin had just been released on bail.
In reality, this whole situation was pretty unfair to him. After all, he had merely been a guest at the party, and he wasn't the one who had brought in the illegal substances. The person who had brought them in not only died but also dragged everyone else down with him.
Erwin himself wasn't too concerned. As long as he could prove his innocence, there wasn't much the authorities here could do to him.
But it was a different story for Hendrix. His entire career was rooted in the country, and if any rumors about this incident spread, the impact on him would be devastating.
That was why he had taken the initiative to come from Coppersville to cooperate with the police investigation. As long as the police here could prove his innocence, any media outlets trying to smear him would be guilty of defamation.
Even though Erwin knew Hendrix was only doing this for his own benefit, he still said sincerely, "Thanks for this."
Hendrix glanced at him but didn't respond. He was holding his phone, eyes fixed on the screen.
Although Erwin spoke fluent Jainese, he didn't know how to read it. All he could see was a string of messages Hendrix had sent, with no reply from the other side.
Erwin immediately understood. "Are you texting Noelle?"noveldrama
"Yeah," Hendrix said softly, finally deigning to give him a reply.
Erwin clicked his tongue. "She's not mad at you, is she? Seriously, why don't you just come abroad with me? There are too many restrictions here. If it weren't for that, you wouldn't have to... Hey, are you even listening to me?"
Hendrix didn't bother listening to whatever Erwin was saying. He waited a few more seconds, but when Noelle still didn't reply, he simply walked off with his phone in hand.
Whatever Erwin said behind him, Hendrix didn't hear. As he walked, he tried calling Noelle, but her phone was turned off.
Hendrix's frown deepened. The last time Noelle had contacted him was to tell him she was attending a party hosted by the Swift family.
Hendrix wasn't trying to restrict her freedom. But after nearly two hours without being able to reach her, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of panic.
He contacted others who had also been invited to the Swift family's party, but they said they hadn't seen Noelle there. Moreover, she hadn't returned to Roselle Court, either.
Hendrix's expression darkened completely. After calling Noelle again and hearing the cold, automated voice, he immediately made arrangements for a flight back to Coppersville.
By the time he returned to Coppersville, there was still no news of Noelle. Surveillance footage showed that she had indeed arrived at the Swift family's estate, but the Swift family claimed they hadn't seen her. Even Marshall and Marla said the same.
Hendrix had stayed up all night, so his eyes were bloodshot. When he heard such a dismissive response, he grabbed Marshall by the collar and roared with rage, "The surveillance footage clearly shows she came in! Now she's missing, and you're telling me you don't know anything?"
The veins on the back of his hands, clenched tightly around Marshall's collar, bulged prominently.
Hendrix stared at Marshall for a moment before his voice suddenly turned icy calm. "The surveillance footage didn't capture her leaving, which means she's still here."
"What are you planning to do?"
What do you think?
