Chapter Forty
I woke up to the shower running in the bathroom. I sat up and yawned as I rubbed my eyes. Sydney Cries caught my attention.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
I got out from under the covers and walked to her little nursery. There Mary was trying to keep her silent. I walked up to them and took my little Sydney in my arms.
I cooed her as I took her in my arms ready to breast feed. When she latched on, I pat her back as she had to her fill. When she was done, I made her burp and I then began playing with her. “Colleen? Where’s my blue shirt?” I heard Reese call out.
Staring up, I took Sydney off the carpet and headed for our bedroom. Reese stood in front of the closet, a towel hanging low on his hips. He turned to look at me, a frown embedded on his face.
“It should be in the top shelf.” I said to him. He shuffled through there only to shake his head no. That’s odd.
I laid Sydney down and walked to the cupboard and looked through it. That’s when I remembered, I put it in the washing. “I got it, I had sent it to the dry cleaners to get cleaned, there was a stain I couldn’t get off when I was washing it.” I said to him. He simply nodded and pulled out a black shirt sleeved shirt. He slipped it on, as it clung to his body. It looked really good.
Something felt off, weird. It didn’t feel right. “Reese, some things been bothering me?” I said to him as he snapped his gaze towards mine. “do you, do you have something you want to tell me?” I asked him with curious eyes as I bounced Sydney on my hip.
He shook his head. “Colleen I told you, there’s a reason why I do what I do and you’ll understand soon.” he answered.
But heart beat rapidly against my chest as I watched him, “did you do something with Sydney?” I asked him. That’s the first thought that ever crosses my mind.
He kept silent and looked away, and my breath hitched. “What did you do with our daughter? How could you do something with your own daughter?” I asked him my eyes never leaving his figure.
“I didn’t do anything with our daughter, it’s just a lot say, I met someone important to her.” he said confusing the hell out of me.
I was about to speak when the doorbell range catching me off guard. I stared at him as I walked down the stairs. I pushed open the door only for my mouth to hand open.
“mom?” here she was, standing fully healthy in front of me. Her face flowing. She was standing right in front of me.
She smiled and nodded. “What- how did this happen?” I asked her confused.
“Colleen, I’m getting my wolf back and I don’t know how, so I came to ask you if something was up with you too?” she said.
“I- I don’t know, I’ve just been feeling weird lately.” I said to her.
Soon Reese came down the stairs and my anger was pouring out. I was furious. What has he done?
“REESE!” I barked in anger making him stand firmly in his posture. “what did you do?” I asked. I felt like I was going to cry.
“I told you. I haven’t done anything. I just met someone important to Sydney.” he said. I watched as his eyes wanted, not looking directly at me.
“There’s something you’re not telling me.” I said to him.
Right then a knock on the door made us snap our heads something felt off. I opened the door only to see a young man. Midnight black hair, an immaculate face. (A/N: imagine him however you like.)
“Who are you and what do you want?” I questioned. He let out a dark Aura.
“the name is Leondris and I’m here to see my- ah Reese, where is she?” he questioned. Reese simply smiled and nodded to my arms.
I moved back and away, “Don’t touch my daughter, I’ll never hand her over, to you, you monster. Reese you pig!” I yelled over to him.
Leondris laughed at me hard. I looked at the idiot. What was funny. “I’m not here to take your daughter, away. I’m only here to see my mate.” he said. I looked around.
“I’m not your mate so I think you got the wrong person.” I said to him. He simply shook his head at me.
“Not you, her, your daughter is my mate.” There is no way. He’s not her mate.
“You can’t be.” u said to him in a whisper.
“oh, but I am.” I knew something was off. He was letting out a dark Aura.
“What are you?” I questioned him. He simply smiled.
“a dark angel, also known as a Demon.” I turned to Reese.
“What the hell Is going on?” I asked him.
He let out a sigh. “It turns out your father was signed to a contract with him and he promised the first child of yours would be given to him as sacrifice. So I do a little finding and also found out your wolves were sent to him as gifts.” he said angrily. “so I simply went to go visit the Demon himself. Made a deal and turns out our daughter was his mate, so instead of giving her up as sacrifice I made a deal with him saying he could meet his mate and when she became of age she would be allowed to be mated with him. In return of your wolves.” he said.
My rage began to dissipate into thin air. I let out a sigh if relief. My mom looked lost in thought. Ugh! My stupid father! All he knows how to do is make people miserable and suffer! God!
Sydney gurgle in my arms ad Leondris took her from me. She instantly Clung on him. I guess he is her mate. But I couldn’t get my thoughts to stray.
“Why is it you’re only finding your mate now?” I questioned him as he let out a strained smile.
“because, when you live without aging you want someone by your side. It’s like if Reese were to die now, you’d feel the pain of losing your mate, but for a demon it’s different, if you don’t find your mate, your everyday life would feel that way.” he smiled. “I guess I finally found my mate.”
Yeah. He Did.
The end!
