The World of Beasts: She's Got Their Hearts

Chapter 12

The reason Scott became Analise's guardian was twofold. On one hand, she was a pure human who possessed the ability to heal S-grade males with her mind essence. On the other, there was something about her that felt different from other females-though he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

From the moment he first laid eyes on her, he instinctively wanted to be her guardian. When Finlay and Kyle had first mentioned Analise, he hadn't had much of a reaction. But the moment he saw her at the hospital, the thought immediately took root in his mind—he had to become her guardian.

After all, being a female's guardian significantly increased the chances of becoming her mate. With females being scarce and males abundant, it was common for a female to have multiple male partners.

"Your ears... Are they tiger ears?"

Analise's gaze fell on Scott's tail. It looked sturdier than a regular cat's tail, and its coloration closely resembled that of a tiger. As for his ears, his hair was slightly longer than most males, so she could only see their faint outline.

"Yes. I'm a tiger therian." Scott nodded, sensing an opportunity. His smile deepened.

"Then, I can't touch them." Analise shook her head.

"Why not?" Scott froze, his smile stiffening as a wave of disappointment washed over him.

"Because they say you should never touch a tiger's tail," Analise replied matter-of- factly before quickly entering the villa.

What she didn't notice, however, was that Finlay was nowhere in sight. Scott, slightly thrown off, followed her inside, though he kept a warm smile on his face.

Analise searched around until she finally spotted Finlay emerging from the butler's room on the first floor-wrapped in nothing but a bath towel.

She was completely stunned. Scott was also momentarily dumbfounded. He suddenly felt as if he had already lost to Finlay by a long shot.

This was probably all thanks to that friend Finlay had mentioned earlier-the one who gave him advice. Should he find someone to ask for tips on how to win a female's favor, too?

But he was the commander. If he asked about something like this, wouldn't the others laugh at him?

Avoiding looking directly at Finlay, Scott went straight to his room and shut the door.

Analise, however, didn't even notice. Her gaze was still locked onto Finlay, completely oblivious to the fact that Scott had already left.

Meanwhile, Finlay was blushing furiously. He only noticed Scott heading upstairs and didn't realize that his mood had soured.

His tail, which must have been dried beforehand, now looked extra clean and fluffy compared to earlier.

Finlay noticed the way Analise was eyeing him-her expression a little too eager, almost ravenous. He hesitated for a moment, then took two steps forward and stopped right in front of her.

His face, ears, and even the skin along his neck were tinged with pink. Finlay took a deep breath, recalling his friend's advice. He decided test the waters and asked

cautiously, "Ana, can you help me dry my hair?"

His pale gray eyes, shining like the moon, fixed intently on Analise.

"Sure! Of course! But... I'll have to charge a little fee for it." Analise grinned playfully, making no effort to hide the way she was checking him out.

Finlay grew even more flustered under her heated gaze. But his buddy's strategy definitely worked!

Look at her completely mesmerized! Just one step away from reaching out and...

Analise was already touching him. Before he could even process it, Analise had grabbed his wrist and was leading him upstairs without hesitation.
