Megan mulled it over for a moment before turning on her heel. “I’ll talk to Tessie.”

She found Tessie quickly. “Tessie, Linda isn’t fit for the center position. If it affects the performance, who’s responsible? Just replace her!”

Then, with unshakable confidence, she added, “I’ll take the center position.”

“What?” Tessie was caught off guard. Like Hadley, she couldn’t bring herself to make such a significant decision alone.

“What, you can’t?” Megan scoffed. “Fine! I’ll go straight to the producer! You all might be scared of Linda, but I’m not!” She threw her arm out, ready to storm off.

“Megan…” Tessie grabbed her in a hurry.

“Why are you stopping me? I can’t stand people who hog the spotlight but don’t do the work!” Megan snapped. Just then, the door swung open.

Linda walked in with her assistant, coming face-to-face with Megan. Linda paused—she knew Megan.

“Don’t try to get all friendly with me!” Megan wasn’t in the mood for small talk. She rolled her eyes at Linda, full of disdain. “I’m talking about you! Hogging the center spot and doing nothing! Absolutely shameless!”

“What? Did I say something wrong?” Megan eyed her with pure contempt. “Save the innocent act for someone else!”

Hadley watched from the side. These two clearly had history—and not the friendly kind.

Megan lifted her chin, eyes locked on Linda. “Step down from the center position.”

Linda raised an eyebrow, amused. “Step down? For who? You? Do you even deserve—”

“So what if I did? You think you’re worthy of saying my name? A nobody like you, thinking you’re royalty just because you got lucky? Pathetic!” Then, without warning, she spat right at Linda’s face.

“Ah!” Linda let out a shriek, utterly humiliated.

Megan’s spit had landed dead center on her nose.

Anyone would lose it at this point!

Her assistant panicked. With the Flynn brothers backing her, Linda had always been treated like a queen since her debut. She had never been humiliated like this!
