Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 643

Chapter 643

"We can record the whole thing from the bathroom to the bed." Bernard's voice was low and hoarse, enchanting her like a magnet.

He really did get the wrong idea!

Feeling her cheeks burning, Hera grabbed a pillow and tossed it at him. "What are you thinking about?" Her voice sounded coquettish due to her embarrassment.

He managed to catch the pillow. "Don't you want to record our memories together?"

"In your dreams!"

She would never record themselves making love! She didn't have such kinks!

"Why did you prepare all this equipment, then?" He pointed at the camera and the projector.

"I want to give your method a try again. I want to get used to the darkness," she explained.

Bernard fell into silence as his hopes shattered. Disappointment seeped into his voice. "But I think it'll be meaningful to record and watch those memories when we turn old."

Then, he approached Hera in anticipation. "Since we already got the equipment ready, how about we record a part of it?"

She grabbed and tossed another pillow at him. "Get away from me! Just go get a bath!"

After the little squabble, she turned on the camera and made another attempt to recollect more memories again. She lay in bed and calmed her breathing before telling Bernard, "Turn off the lights."

The moment the lights were turned off, her body tensed up, and her forehead was covered with sweat. However, she was able to put up with it thanks to the faint glow of the galaxy projected on the ceiling.

Next, Bernard turned the projector off, causing the last bit of starlight to disappear. As darkness cloaked her line of vision, her body began trembling uncontrollably.

Noticing her abnormality, he quickly turned on the lights.

Her complexion and lips were pale, and cold sweat covered her forehead, dampening her hair. Even her hands and legs were cold.

The sight broke his heart.

"Sweetie, are you alright?" He grabbed some tissues to wipe the sweat away from her forehead.

It took Hera a while to regain her composure. After taking a glass of warm water, she said, "I'm fine. Let's try one more time."

The next attempt ended the same. The second darkness devoured her and the fear rooted in her overwhelmed her, her body shook uncontrollably. Nothing came to her mind other than fear.

In the darkness, Bernard hugged her and comforted her to calm her down.

It was effective in the beginning, but the sense of security slowly faded away as the time she spent in the darkness became longer.

When her body was about to be triggered into a shock, Bernard turned on the lights. Hera was in a state of panic as though she had lost her mind.

Bernard couldn't let her continue anymore, so he cooed, "Let's call it a day."

She curled in his arms, taking a moment to regain her cool. She weakly hummed in response as though her soul had just returned to her body.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

She forced herself to do the same thing the following nights. Each attempt became more intense, and she would

break into a cold sweat due to terror every single time. It was as if she was scooped up from a freezing cold river.

Bernard's heart ached so much from that. "Sweetie, stop. Forget it. I won't leave your side whenever it's nighttime in the future. Never."

Before this, he intended to train her to face the darkness herself so that whenever he wasn't by her side, her life wouldn't be in danger due to her irrational fear.

However, his heart shattered into pieces as he watched her face go pale due to fear at each attempt.

He'd rather light up the whole Jedburgh than make her try this again.

Breathing in his scent, Hera did her best to calm herself down. Despite the numerous attempts, it didn't work. Other than those images, she couldn't remember anything else.

Was it because this method had become useless?
