Chapter 10: Ch 9
Chapter 10: Ch 9
Sitting in the black leather sofas, I tapped my foot onto the floor impatiently waiting for Tate and the others to come back.
Colin sat beside me staring at the blank television and it was driving me crazy.
"Are you going to just sit there?" I asked glaring at him while crossing my arms over my chest.
"Do you have any other ideas?" He asked glancing at me and back at the blank screen.
"Actually," I said slapping my hands to my knees before standing up, "-I do. Lets go see whats going on."
"No," he said bluntly not sparing me another glance.
"I wasn't asking for permission. You sit here and I'll be right back," I said walking towards the door, only to be stopped by Colin who appeared in front of me.
"What part of, its dangerous don't you understand?" He hissed in anger blocking my way from the door.
"Move," I hissed back equally angry.
"No."
"Why don't you just sit down and drink? That's what your good at! Just let me leave," I yelled in anger pushing him away from me.
Colin froze and his eyes widened.
"Colin?" I asked awkwardly as he stood there rigid.
With his head hung down, he breathed in a deep shaky breath.
"That's what my wife said to me. Right before she died," he said in a low whisper.
Now I froze. I mentally stabbed myself at my stupidity. Surely there was a reason for his drinking. This was it.
"She didn't listen to me. She stepped out of the door and was killed," he said slowly still not looking at me as his eyes were unfocused. Lost. As if he were recalling a long lost memory.
Before I can say anything or apologies, his head suddenly snapped to mine and his eyes narrowed.
"So go ahead. Leave. See were it gets you," he hissed at me and disappeared.
I stared at where he stood and felt my eyes water up. How could I have been so rude?
"Elina!"
Turning my head I saw Tate burst through the doors. He walked up to me in long strides and engulfed me into his arms, holding me close.
I wrapped my arms around him to, blinking the tears away.
"You shouldn't have been there," he said pulling back his arms lingering on my waist.
"Tate I'm almost eighteen. Not eight," I said and Tom chuckled from behind.
"Alpha, what do you plan on doing?" Duncan asked appearing through the door.
"What can I do beside have people on patrol, Duncan?" Tate said in annoyance his jaw clenching.
Duncan just took in a deep breath also clenching his jaw as he swiftly glanced at me.
"Where's Colin?" Tate asked and I looked away shrugging.
No way was I explaining that little scene.
"Were going to have to be on the look out. Day and night, for every hour of the day," Tate spoke and everyone went silent.
"This guy Adrian has an Elemental on his side. This whole thing just went to another level," Tate sighed looking frustrated.
We were playing with fire. Literally.
"Tate, it will be fine. I can help. I mean fire? That's-"
"-dangerous." Tate finished off firmly.
"No, no you don't understand," I said trying to speak, but this time Duncan cleared his throat.
"We should notify everyone to keep an eye out," Duncan said.
"Elina we will talk about this later, alright?" Tate said looking exhausted. His hazel eyes were dull and his dark mock of hair was all over the place.
As handsome as he still looked, he didn't have the energy to process the information I was going to tell him.
"Okay," I said simply. He lent down and placed a soft kiss on my forehead, making it tingle, before exiting the room with Duncan and Tom. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Tom sent me a soft smile which I gladly returned. Once I was left alone in the room I slumped onto the couch.
Thoughts raced my mind and I groaned as my head throbbed.
My eyes wondered around the room and stopped on the vase full of water with one red rose with a long green stem.
Lifting my hand up I pointing it in the direction of the vase and I swirled my finger in circles making the water in the vase bubble up.
I grinned and sat up straight. Lifting my hand up higher and the water in the vase lifted up and splashed onto the floor.
Oops.
Giggling for a moment, I stopped when I heard creaking of the floorboards. Snapping my head around I looked around the perimeter but saw nothing.
Shrugging it off, I stood up and left the room. I entered through the main doors of the building and followed the route to the kitchen.
Walking to the door of the snow white looking kitchen, I spotted Colin's hunched figure sitting on the stool.
Walking closer I went next to him and sat on the stool.
"Colin, I'm sorry. For what I said earlier." I said softly.
Colin took a gulp of his drink and looked at me smiling.
"Its fine Elina!" he said taking another gulp, "-everyone needs to let out their anger once in a while," he said amused his eyes glowing.
Smiling I nodded my head, "Yeah I guess they do."
I sat there silently for a few moments watching him drink his alcohol. If that was his source of medicine who was I to judge?
Plus I liked him a lot better not sober.
"Elina,"
Turning around in my stool I saw Tom standing in the door way.
"Can I speak to you for a minute?" He asked motioned his head out towards the hall.
I glanced at Colin and back at Tom before nodding.
"I want you to follow me," he said exiting the building and walking on the snow, his brown boots sinking into the floor.
"...where are we going?" I asked cautiously following him.
When he didn't answer, curiosity got the best of me and I simply followed.
We appeared to the same place were the wolves attacked and I started to get an uneasy feeling.
He lead me over to the lake and stopped.
We both stood there in silence and I was starting to think he was crazy.
"Go on," he said motioning towards the water.
"What?" I said confused looking at him suspiciously.
"Your an Elemental aren't you?" He said rolling his eyes as if it were the most obvious thing.
"H-how did you know?" I asked my mouth wide open in surprise.
"The first day we meant, you made the snow move. I wasn't to sure but when I came to talk with you I saw the thing with the vase," he said casually shrugging his shoulders.
"..and I kind of, sort of told him," said a new voice and little Eddie appeared, his cheeks red as he gave me a guilty smile.
"Well. I guess its good to not keep it to myself," I said with a smile.
"Its so cool. You have to see it Tommy!" Eddie said clapping his hands as he looked at me expectantly along with Tom.
Rolling my eyes I turned towards the river and raised my hands upwards. The water also lifted upwards and I swirled my hand making the water spin and float in the air.
Turning my head, I laughed at both Eddies and Toms astonished faces.
