Your Love Is But a Dream (Clara and Wren)

Chapter 295

Wren couldn't bear to see Clara endure hardship in a place like this. He knew she refused to accept his gift because she didn't want any further ties with him, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't just sever all ties with her.

He hoped she could accept his gifts as she did before without hesitation. He wanted her to be happy, not like she was now.

Clara didn't expect Wren to misunderstand. She looked at him seriously and said, "I'm not lacking money. I bought the electric bike because it's convenient.

"Over the years, I've already received so much from the Zachman family. Now that you're getting married, I don't want to keep relying on your money. It wouldn't be right. If Ivy finds out, she won't be happy, either."

When Wren heard her mention Ivy, he thought she was still holding on to the things that had happened before. Thinking back to the injustices Clara had endured during that time, he nearly wanted to punch himself.

"Don't say that, Clara," he said, looking at her painfully. "You're not an outsider. You're the only-"

Clara realized what Wren was about to say and immediately cut him off, "Wren, stop it!"

She took a deep breath and looked at him calmly. "Some things just aren't right to say. I'll pretend I never heard the things you said before. From now on, you're still my brother. I wish you and Ivy all the best."

Clara couldn't let herself entertain any thoughts she shouldn't. She would treat the things Wren said as words spoken in a moment of panic when she suddenly disappeared.noveldrama

Wren hadn't broken off his engagement with Ivy. Once he returned to Phoypolis, the engagement party would go ahead as planned, followed by the wedding. Clara would continue to play the role of his sister in the years to come, offering him her blessings.

Wren almost lost control when he heard Clara's words. He could barely hold himself back from shouting, "But I don't want to just be your brother!"

Wren took a step closer to her, looking at her with unmasked desire, as if he wanted to pull her into his very being.

"I don't care if you call me disgusting or despicable!" he said sharply. "I love you. The only person I want to marry in this lifetime is you. I have my reasons for being engaged to Ivy, but it's just a temporary O arrangement. I'll break off the engagement with her eventually."

Tears welled up in Wren's eyes as he bent down. He gently took Clara's hand and placed it on his cheek. "Clara, please, just look at me again," he pleaded.

Clara's hand felt as though it had been seared by fire, and she couldn't help but tremble. In a panic, she pulled her hand away from his and took a step back, creating some distance between them.

"Wren, you've already broken my heart once. Are you really going to do the same to someone else?"

Clara said. "Ivy is someone you chose No matter what your reasons are, you shouldn't play with

manipulate someone else's feelings."

Clara never liked Ivy. From the moment Ivy entered the Zachman family, she had been openly hostile toward her.

Her dislike for Ivy had grown over the years, especially since Ivy first entered the Zachman family. From the very beginning, Ivy had harbored intense animosity toward her.

Clara had never understood why Ivy would smile to her face while being cruel behind her back until she discovered Ivy and Wren's secret relationship.

That was when Clara finally

understood that Ivy had been targeting her because she saw her as a rival. Ivy feared that Clara would take Wren away from her, so she did everything she could to sabotage Clara, forcing her to leave Wren and the Zachman family. Only then could Ivy truly feel secure.
