Chapter 75
Chapter 75 Concern
Sierra’s eyelashes fluttered lightly as she recalled the cold, woody, refreshing scent she smelled when the patient entered last night. Her doubts grew deeper. st raised her eyes to look at the nurse tidying the bed and casually asked, “Has this patient been transferred to another room?”
“Ah, yes, she was transferred early this moming.” The muse nodded.
“I must have disturbed her rest when I had a high fever last night. I feel bad about it. Which room was she transferred to?”
The nurse’s eves were slightly evasive. The doctor had specifically instructed this morning not to reveal that the person who had come in last night was Theo. “Ms, Shaw, I’m not sure. I wasn’t the one who moved her. It’s normal for people not to sleep well in a hospital; it’s not as quiet as at home, so there’s no need for you to feel guilty.”
Sierra carefully observed the nurse’s expression and noticed her shifty eyes. Her suspicions grew even stronger, but she smiled faintly. “Alright, thank you.” “You’re welcome, Ms. Shaw. Please rest well” The nurse sighed with relict and quickly left, carrying the blanket.
Sierra watched her leave and turned to ask the caregiver, “Miss, has the hospital been full of patients recently?”
“No, but there aren’t many cooms left. When one person leaves, someone else comes in.”
The caregiver spoke while pouring her a drink
Sierra frowned. The doctor had said yesterday that the hospital rooms were full. Was that a lie?
What kind of patient would leave after just one night and do so quietly?
“Ms. Shaw, you need to drink more water when you have a fever. It’s good for your body “The caregiver brought over the water and handed it to Sierra. “Thank you,” she softly said, took a small sip, and lowered her eyes to look at the button in her palm. She already had the answer in her mind, but she couldn’t understand it. Since Theo came to see her, why didn’t he want her to know?
Meanwhile, at the Gray Corporation, CEO’s Office, Theo took off his jacket and noticed that one of the buttons on his suit was missing. Before he could think much about it, there was a knock at the office door.
He hung up the jacket and said softly, “Come in.”
Liam walked in. noveldrama
“Theo, I saw you come in looking exhausted just now. Have you not been getting enough rest lately?” Liam looked at him with concem.
Theo poured a drink for him and another for himself. He tooka sip replied indifferently, “It’s nothing. I haven’t been sleeping well these days.”
“That’s true. You just got back, and with all the company’s affairs, I’m sure you’re too swamped to get proper rest. It’s all my fault for not managing the company well, making you face many things right after you returned.” Liam sounded guilty.
“Once the issues are dealt with, they’ll be over. It’s not a big deal,” Theo spoke calmly as if he didn’t care much about the company’s matters.
Liam knew that ever since their mother passed away, Theo had changed a lot. He was no longer as affectionate and dependent on his older brother, becoming more distant and aloot.
He sighed ighed lightly and continued to express his concem. “Not sleeping well is a big issue. Have you been to the hospital for a check–up?”
“I’ve already visited a doctor. It’s nothing serious.” Then pinched his brow as he said in a low voice, unable to hide the exhaustion.
Liam nodded. Then, with a gentle voice, he responded, “That’s good. Health is the most important thing. The company’s matters can be handled slowly.”
