Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 2132

What reason is there besides love?

After leaving Tyler's mansion, Athena returned to her own place.

She was genuinely exhausted that night. Preparing those dishes took quite a bit of time, but she sincerely wanted to help Tyler get his stomach back in shape. She'd heard he had stomach issues but was always out drinking. Each dish she'd prepared was carefully researched and known to be beneficial for the stomach.

Lying in her own bed, Athena felt a little defeated. But then again, wasn't this her own doing? She knew what kind of person he was all along. It was her choice to walk into the lion's den.

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to get up and take a shower. Afterward, she lay back down and fell asleep, too tired to let her mind wander.

At four in the morning, she got up and went back to Tyler's mansion.

She took advantage of the fact that he hadn't returned yet and cooked four dishes. It wasn't until she heard the sound of a car engine outside that she brought the food out from the kitchen.

The housekeeper offered to help, but Athena waved her off.

Tyler walked in smelling of the morning dew.

When he saw Athena, he was taken aback for a few seconds. After what happened last night, he thought she would have the sense to give up. But here

she was, early in the morning, in his mansion again.

He furrowed his brow slightly as she smiled at him.

"You're back. Want to take a shower first?"

There was a lipstick stain on Tyler's collar, left there by the woman from last night during their little flirtation. He usually played along, but seeing Athena now made him feel oddly uncomfortable.

Athena stepped forward, helping him out of his suit jacket, and asked again, "Want to take a shower? You look tired."

A night of partying would do that.

Tyler yawned, gently pushing her away.

"Don't you have any self-respect?"

He had the face of a romantic, but his words were anything but kind.

Athena stumbled back a step, nearly hitting the corner of a cabinet.

But Tyler, never one to get attached, felt no guilt. He just found Athena annoying. Wouldn't it be easier if she just took some money and left? Why stick around for this charade of devotion?

He even started to wonder if she was being paid by someone else or had a bet going. How else could he explain her sudden infatuation?

He strode upstairs, leaving Athena watching his retreating back, her eyes visibly wounded.

The housekeeper sighed at the scene unfolding in front of her.

Even though they'd only known Athena for a few days, they couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

She hadn't done anything wrong. She'd just fallen for the wrong guy.

While Tyler was showering upstairs, he caught sight of some scratch marks on his neck in the mirror, souvenirs from last night's woman.

Though he enjoyed a bit of mischief, he rarely let others leave marks on him. But last night was different, he didn

know what had gottenante. him, only that he hadn't stopped her.

Once he was dressed in a fresh outfit and back downstairs, he asked the housekeeper, "Did she stay the night?"

Even though Tyler was known for his

flings he rarely let women stay over. If they came to his place they were usually sent home right after. noveldrama

"No, Tyler, Ms. Zade left last night."

Tyler felt relieved, yet still unsettled. Meanwhile, Athena was setting the table,

looking as sweet and gentle as ever.

She was the kind of girl you couldn't picture being so persistent.

As Tyler sat down, Athena handed him a spoon.

"Try this soup I made. It's good for your stomach. If you drink it often, your stomach issues might improve."

Tyler was impressed with her cooking. Even though he'd only tasted it once before, he still remembered how delicious it was.

He took a sip of the soup, feeling warmth spread through his stomach.

Even if he was heartless, he couldn't bring himself to snap at Athena at that moment.

"Sit down and eat with me."

Athena finally took a seat beside him, asking What would you like for dinner? I can make four dishes fore breakfast and seven for dinner. Is that okay? If you're not coming home, just let me know If you're working late, I can bring you some soup."

Tyler frowned, ready to refuse, but when he saw her eyes, he swallowed the words.

Seeing he hadn't rejected her, Athena beamed, offering him another dish.

"Try this too. I've tweaked the recipe a bit, and it should be good for your stomach

as well."

For the rest of the meal, whatever she offered, Tyler tasted, and the atmosphere between them was unusually calm.

After breakfast, Tyler leaned back on the sofa, ready to rest.

Half-awake, he felt a hand gently massaging his leg.

Opening his eyes, he saw Athena kneeling sweetly by his side, her hands on his

leg.

"I've studied massage therapy. How does it feel?"

Tyler genuinely felt relaxed. Her technique was impressive.

"A cook, a masseuse, and a warm presence. What can't you do, darling?"

With that, he pulled her into his arms, holding her tight against him.
