Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 961

She couldn't see through the charade and still played along like it didn't bother her.

Yasmine, unfazed by Selena's mocking, slapped her hard across the face. "And what makes you think you can look down on me now, Selena? Very soon, your life will be mine. After today, you'll be Yasmine, the villain who gets burned here, while I become Selena, the heroine who saves her son and reunites with her husband, Everett, for a happily ever after."

Selena's lips curved into a cool, steady smile. "Yasmine, what makes you so sure you can take my place? Do you really think just having the same face makes you me? You think everyone's that gullible?"

Yasmine locked eyes with her, her expression shifting dramatically, and her whole demeanor changed.

Mimicking Selena's voice, she repeated, "Yasmine, what makes you so sure you can take my place?"

Selena's smile started to falter.

Seeing this, Yasmine laughed with satisfaction. "How about it? Do I look like you, Selena? Do you even know what I've been up to these past years? Joy had me mimic every bit of your personality, your daily habits, everything you say and do. I've been learning to be you every single day."

"Forget about everyone else; even you... didn't it feel like you were looking in a mirror just now? Still think I can't pull it off?"

"Oh, and to make sure everything was perfect, I recently pretended to be you and visited your uncle's place. Your dear uncle and cousin were just so welcoming, they didn't suspect a thing."

Selena's hands clenched tight, her lips pressed into a thin line.

Yasmine kept going, "Seeing you scared makes me so happy. I heard you've got another little one on the way. Guess you won't be alone on your journey to the afterlife."

Just then, a burly guy walked up. "Ms. Yasmine, Everett's almost here."

Yasmine narrowed her eyes slightly. "He's as sharp and attentive as ever. The moment you left, he sensed something was up and followed you. Selena, how did you end up with a man like that?"

"But soon, he'll be mine."

Selena took a deep breath. "Even no one else recognizes me, I know Everett won't mistake me. If something happens to me, you won't get to live my life!"

"Alright then, I'll let you watch, before you go, how Everett cradles me in his arms."noveldrama

Yasmine instructed the burly guy, "Take her to the back room, lock the door, and once Everett takes me away, burn it down."

The guy nodded. "Got it."

Selena was dragged to a small room, her mouth taped shut, and her hands cuffed to an iron post. In front of her, they set up a phone showing a live feed of the outside.

The guy left, locking the door behind him.

Half an hour later, the rusty door was shoved open with force. Everett stormed in with his bodyguards.

Yasmine and Mateo were tied up together, surrounded by thugs.

When Yasmine saw Everett, her eyes filled with tears, but she remained

stubbornly silent, just like Selena.

Everett's dark eyes found hers, his handsome face tense, and then he turned to the thugs. "Let them go!"
