My Love Until the Last Goodbye (Mary and Maximus)

Peter stood in the doorway, watching Celeste. He lingered there for a moment, exhausted from the long day. Slowly, he stepped inside, unsure of what to say or do. Luckily, she was asleep, lying on her side with her back to him.

He moved closer, at first intending to wake her and have a long conversation, but someti...g stopped him. A familiar scent filled the room-a rich, calming aroma of roses that somehow made him feel at ease.

Without thinking much about it, Peter removed his shoes and coat. Then, with careful movements, he climbed into bed. He didn't know why, but he suddenly wanted to be close to her.

As soon as he was on the bed, he shifted toward Celeste, pressing his face into her thick hair. His nose brushed against the nape of her neck, making her stir. His arm instinctively wrapped around her waist, his hand resting on her growing belly.

Celeste jolted at the unexpected embrace, about to pull away, but Peter's deep, husky voice calmed her.

"Relax, it's just me," he murmured.

"Peter...” she whispered, still startled.

"Stay like this. I want to feel them," he said, gently caressing her stomach.

As if responding to his touch, the babies began to move-much more actively than usual.

"Are you okay?" Celeste asked cautiously.

"Yeah... I just want to feel them," Peter whispered near her ear.

For reasons he couldn't understand, an overwhelming sense of peace washed over him. The tightness in his chest, the anxiety that had been choking him all day, slowly faded Before he knew it, he drifted into a deep sleep.

When Peter woke up, it was midnight. Celeste was still beside him, fast asleep. She was now wearing one of his shirts, looking more relaxed than he'd ever seen her.noveldrama

He, on the other hand, felt fully rested for the first time in weeks. More than a month of doing nothing, and yet he had been feeling drained-until now.

Careful not to wake her, he got out of bed and took a shower. After drying off, he explored the room, eventually finding the walk-in closet.

And there it was-the thing that had bothered him earlier. The clothes.

With a sigh, he grabbed a pair of pajama pants and headed back to bed.

Before lying down, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. His reflection confirmed what he already knew he was not the 25-year-old he remembered being. But, all things considered, time had been kind to him. At least, physically.

When he stepped out of the closet, his eyes immediately fell on Celeste again. The moonlight streaming.in from the window bathed her face in a soft glow, making her look even more beautiful.

He didn't understand why, but a strong urge to kiss her took over.

Without hesitation, he climbed into bed, reached out, and ulled her toward him.

Celeste stirred at the unexpected closeness. This wasn't the same Peter who had told her to leave just days ago. After a moment she decided to speak

"Peter..."

"Shh... Just come here," he whispered, cupping the back of her head and pulling her closer.

With her so near, he couldn't resist anymore. He leaned in and kissed her.

At first, it was just a soft brush of their lips, hesitant and fleeting. But then, something s kiss deepened, filled with an intensity he hadn't expected.

"Peter, no... We shouldn't," she protested, breaking the kiss as she felt the hunger behind it.

"Why not?" he asked, his voice low. "As far as I know, you're my fiancée. And

those babies didn't appear in your belly by magic."

Celeste felt her face flush. She was completely thrown off.

Peter had kissed her many times, but never like this.
