Chapter 0856
This kiss was full of longing, desire, and passion-an intensity that, if left unchecked, could lead to something much more.
"Peter... you don't remember me. You don't even feel comfortable around me," she reminded him, trying to create some distance.
Peter simply smiled, his expression calm-almost amused.
"It was the only way to make you go home and rest," he admitted.
"What?"
"Celeste, I'm not a monster. I appreciate that you stayed with me all that time in the hospital. But for the sake of the babies, I had to make sure you left and took care of yourself."
"Are you serious? That's why you said all those things?" she asked, completely thrown off.
Peter sat up, leaning against the headboard with a deep sigh. "Celeste..."
Celeste sat up as well, staring at him in surprise. She knew without a doubt that the Peter standing in front of her was nothing like the man she had once known.
"I know this all looks like a complete mess. I had a breakdown today. While Theodore was with me, telling me about our relationship, things started to become clearer. If you're pregnant with my children, then you must be someone important to me.
"Because if there's one thing I know about myself, it's that I never do anything I don't want to do. I know I've said and done things that don't align with who we were. I won't deny that it still feels unreal having you here, but there's one thing you need to be sure of-I would never leave you alone with one or two of my children."
"What are you saying?"
"Celeste Mason, I proposed to you, and I intend to follow through with that. I just need some patience from you. I know there are so many things I don't remember, and honestly? The time period I do remember... wasn't exactly my best. Even though back then, I thought I was living my best life."
"I... I don't want to force you into anything..."
"I know it might seem that way. But do you want me to be completely honest with you?"
"Yes..." Celeste answered, her voice laced with fear.
"Celeste, the whole way 'home'-because if I'm being honest, this house is nothing like what I would've chosen- I kept thinking. And the truth is, I don't think having a family would be such a bad thing.
"When I was 25, I lived alone in Galea. I had a housekeeper who took care of the place, but back then, she was my only family. Her and Marcus Bartz.noveldrama
"I want this. I want a family-my own family. I know I'm already a father and a
grandfather, and by the way, I haven't even met my grandson yet.

asked, looking at her intently.
"Peter, you shouldn't do this just because of what we said or did before your amnesia. You just woke up from a long coma, and I don't want you to commit to something you're not truly sure about."
"Celeste... Don't think I'm taking this decision lightly. These days in the hospital have made me look ahead, and I want this. All I ask is one thing-help me. Help me remember." Peter stepped closer to her.
"Peter, I..." Celeste started, trying to be rational.
"Come on, Celeste. Let's go to bed. It's strangefeel like rested for an eternity in the spital, but now that I'm here, feel more exhausted than ever," Peter said as he reached out and placed his..and gently onher belly.
