Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 752

Chapter 752:

“Yes,” she answered quietly. “I miss you.”

“I miss you too.” Kellan’s tone shifted. He could tell something was off. “Did something happen?”

Allison stared up at the ceiling, not holding back. “Verruckt got drunk and kissed me.”

The silence on the other end of the line was chilling.

Allison muttered, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked him to drink—”

Kellan cut her off, saying, “It’s not your fault. I would never blame you.”

His voice was rough, a sign that his wound was bleeding again. But he didn’t care about that. His eyes slowly turned bloodshot, his mind focused only on killing Verruckt. Still, comforting Allison had to come first.

He knew her feelings were what truly mattered.

“Allison, so many people would love you because you’re worth it.” Kellan pushed down the dark emotions threatening to take over. “As for Verruckt, I want to take care of him myself once the plan’s done.”

Allison frowned just a little. “He was a test subject too. It’s complicated.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll talk about it later. You need to rest first.”

Kellan lowered his gaze, his lashes casting a shadow over his eyes. “Allison, can we stay on the line tonight? Just stay with me like this.”

Allison understood it was his way of being there for her.

“Alright, we’ll stay connected.”

The next morning, Verruckt woke up, slowly opening his eyes. His head was throbbing from the hangover. The world spun around him. The room felt oddly familiar, yet strangely unfamiliar at the same time.

He sat up in bed, recognizing the place, but a frown crossed his face, as if something important was slipping his mind. “This is… my home.”

Verruckt stepped out of the master bedroom. The scent of bread and sizzling bacon filled the air in the living room. His gaze drifted to the dining table, where two sandwiches and a glass of milk sat neatly arranged.

His mind was still catching up, but his body had already moved toward the table. As he got closer, he saw a sticky note that read: “I’ve gone to work. Here’s breakfast.”

As soon as Verruckt read the note, memories from the previous night rushed back to him, like a dam breaking. He remembered everything — walking into the room, clinking glasses with her, and then pressing her against the wall…

The air seemed to freeze around him. Irritated, Verruckt glanced toward the second bedroom and pushed the door open without a second thought. The curtains were half-drawn, softening the harsh sunlight. The bed was made neatly, though the slight wrinkles told him someone had slept there last night. A faint floral scent lingered in the air, as if her presence hadn’t quite left.
