The Billionaire And His Son Want Me Back (Paisley)

Chapter 216

Paisley's cold indifference felt like a load on Dominick's chest and throat. It was stuck there-

neither going up nor down-

leaving him uncomfortable, barely able to breathe. Nothing was harder for him to accept than seeing another man standing next to Paisley.

"Paisley," he called out softly, not wanting her to leave. It felt like, if he let go this time, Paisley might truly never belong to him agam

"Mom!" Grayson was equally unwilling to let go. He clung tightly to Paisley's hand, crying even more bitterly than before. "Don't leave, stay here with me. Mom, I need you!" "Paisley, why don't you just stay with Sonny for a bit?" Dominick asked gently. "He needs his mom."

Lauren, unable to stand her precious grandson crying, added, "Paisley, can you stop being so heartless? All you think about is that daughter of yours!"

She shot Max a glare and continued, "Sonny is your child too. As a mother, you should be fair and not so biased!"

Max felt both bewildered and a little awkward standing there. Seeing the concern on Paisley's face for her daughter, he said

gently. "Don't worry. Ill go check on Rena while you handle things here."

With that, Max walked past the Vanderbilt family toward Maria and Serena. As he passed Dominick, he could clearly feel the strong hostility radiating from him.

"I am being fair!" Paisley felt she had fulfilled her responsibilities. Besides, Grayson didn't actually need her there-

just like before.

She looked seriously at the Vanderbilt family. T've already checked. Sonny's fine. And with all of you around, he doesn't need me. But my daughter does. So please, don't stop me." With that, Paisley decisively pulled her hand out of Grayson's grip.

"Ah!" Grayson screamed, his spoiled temper flaring up. "You're mean! You're not my mom! You don't love me. You only love Serena!"

Paisley looked at him calmly. "I hope you understand that throwing a tantrum won't work on me."

Meeting Paisley's cold and unyielding gaze, Grayson froze, unsure of what to do. At home, whenever he cried or got angry, he always got what he wanted. But he had forgotten- his mom never liked this behavior, not even when he was a child.

That was why, back then, he preferred his grandma and Marissa. They would indulge him unconditionally, without setting any rules or even giving him a chance to throw a tantrum. But his mom wouldn't, never, ever. So if not this, what could he do to make her stay?

"Paisley. This time, it was Dominick

who grabbed Paisley's wrist. He knew his actions were childish and unbecoming. But he didn't care anymore. He couldn't stand the sight of Paisley being with another man.

He couldn't bear to watch their happy family of three leaning on each other. He couldn't do it. Paisley was his, only his.

"Dominick, I'm not in the mood to argue with you. Let go of my hand right now-

I need to see my daughter, Paisley said, holding back her impatience. This was her final warning.

"Paisley, your daughter is fine. It's Sonny who's in trouble! Can't you see he's all injured?" Lauren's fury erupted

at Paisley's unwavering attitude. Seeing her precious grandson plead so desperately only to be ignored sent Lauren into a rage.

"Paisley, you really have a cold heart! To you, only that illegitimate child matters, right? Sonny means nothing, right? And you've even brought your lover here to flaunt in front of us!" "Mom!"

"Lauren!" Dominick and Reginald couldn't stop her in time-

Lauren had already said everything she shouldn't have.

"Mom, what are you saying!" Even Kayla thought Lauren had gone too far this time. Some things could be said in private but not right in Paisley's face.

Anyone could see that her brother wanted to reconcile with Paisley. By saying such things,

Lauren was cutting off any chance of that happening.

But Lauren didn't care. Her eyes were red with

anger as she glared at Paisley. All she knew was Paisley had made her grandson suffer.

"Paisley, you're so heartless! You abandoned your husband and child to run off with this man, had an illegitimate child, and now you don't even acknowledge your son anymore."

Lauren's anger only escalated, her words growing more reckless. Anything related to Grayson made her lose all reason. "What did you just say? Say it again. Who are you calling illegitimate?" Paisley stared coldly at Lauren, her voice icy. "Am I wrong? If your daughter isn't an illegitimate child, then what is she?"

Paisley's slap landed hard on Lauren's face, her eyes glinting with cold light.

"Ah! Mom!" Standing behind Lauren, Kayla was startled. She hadn't expected Paisley to hit her. Reginald was equally shocked, frozen in place for a moment.

Lauren held her face. "You hit me?"

Paisley didn't want to waste any more wordsnoveldrama

with the Vanderbilt family. She turned to Max for help. Max immediately understood and responded, "Leo."

Leo immediately rushed over with his people. 'Let go of Paisley."

Naturally, Julian wouldn't let Dominick get hurt either, so he brought along the Vanderbilt family's guards and surrounded them as well. Both sides faced off, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife.

Dominick and Max locked eyes from a distance once again, both radiating a cold, unmistakable hostility. Just then, Maria's sharp voice broke through, "Paisy! Serena won't wake up! Come take a look!" "What? What's going on?" Jonathan immediately went over, his face darkening as he checked

Serena's condition. "This isn't good"

"Serena!" Paisley shook off Dominick's hand again.

Realizing the

severity of the situation, Dominick didn't try to stop her this time. Instead, he stayed by her side, shielding her to prevent her from falling in her panic. "Don't worry. It'll be okay Paisley finally saw Serena-pale-

faced and unconscious. After checking Serena's pulse, Paisley froze on the spot. It was septicemia.
