The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella)

Chapter 1412

Wyatt nodded at Mirabella in greeting before turning to his brother, James, "James, I've almost finalized the arrangements with the pharmaceutical association."

James hummed nonchalantly, his attention still partly on his phone as he typed away. Lifting his head, he asked Mirabella, "What would you like for dinner tonight?"

"Ah, anything's fine," Mirabella responded lazily, shifting her position on the sofa, legs crossed.

James nodded and returned to his messaging.

Wyatt cleared his throat, drawing their attention as he pulled documents from his briefcase, "There's something else. Today, I received an anonymous package containing information about Presley."

Mirabella glanced briefly at the papers in Wyatt's hand, her interest waning almost immediately as she looked away.

Handing the documents to James, Wyatt continued, "I always thought only research institutes conducted experiments on living subjects. I had no idea Presley was also testing on people behind closed doors."

Mirabella played absently with the hem of her clothing, a slight smile tugging at her lips as if struck by a thought, "Desire is a chasm that can never be filled."noveldrama

Wyatt stared at her, perplexed. Although her expression remained unchanged, her words carried an unusual chill.

"So young, yet you speak as if you've seen through the world's façade," James raised an eyebrow, tossing the documents onto the coffee table before taking Mirabella's hand gently, "Mirabella, are you tired?"

Mirabella gave James a sidelong glance, not withdrawing her hand but not engaging further either.

Wyatt, observing their interaction, couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy.

"Did the documents reveal who sent them?" James turned to Wyatt, his tone indifferent.

Wyatt's cheek twitched, "...No."

He felt a wave of disdain wash over him as he spoke.

Clearing his throat, Wyatt avoided James's gaze, remembering something else. He turned to Mirabella, "By the way, Ms. Mirabella, the photo you sent me the other day ties in with my findings on aperson named Cian. It's very likely they're the same individual."

"Photo?" James played with the tips of Mirabella's fingers, curiosity in his eyes.

Wyatt quickly pulled out his phone, showing them the photo, "This person here."

James glanced at it, noting the photo was too blurry and the angle too obscure to make out any features, "Cian?"

"Seems so," Wyatt replied.

Wyatt considered the information his contacts had provided, pausing for a moment before responding, "It's unclear if the individual who met with Presley a few days ago was the same person."

The mention of Presley again tightened Mirabella's gaze, though she pressed no further, "Understood."

After a moment, Wyatt left, leaving Mirabella and James alone in the living room.

"Thinking about Cian?" James teased, playing with Mirabella's fingers to draw her back from her thoughts.

Mirabella always seemed slightly uneasy at the mention of Cian. Straightening up slightly, she shook her head, "Not really."
