When Love Breaks (Josephine)

As she lay in bed, Josephine examined what people were talking about on the Internet as she listened to some music.

With Zayn revealing himself to be the one who used Internet trolls to give her bad publicity, and with the company that provided the trolling service reported and investigated, the Internet's public opinion toward her could be said to have shifted entirely.

Any page she landed on, she would find that a majority of the comments were defending her. They were all condemning Zayn for being a cheater.

As always, there were a handful of oddballs with their conspiracy theories, insisting that she and Zayn were colluding to stir up hype.

She chose to ignore them.

She was always the target of criticism from Yvan's fans all year round anyway. She had long become immune to such childish insults.

At this point, she was already yawning. When she was about to go to sleep, her phone suddenly rang.

"What do you mean by this, Josephine? How could you just let some random stranger send me food that's hard to even swallow? Is this how you look after a patient?

"Have you forgotten how much I used to take care of you when you were sick? Your stomach hurt, and I took an entire day off to stay home with you..."

The moment she answered the phone, Zayn angrily began ranting. Josephine scowled and placed the phone far from her immediately.

It was only when the noise settled that she took it back.

"Weren't you hungry? Why are you still being picky when you have someone to send food to you?"

"I'm an injured patient! Are you saying an injured patient has no right to good food?"

"What do you feel like eating, then? I'll get someone to have it delivered to you."

Zayn was even more upset now. "Are you not going to come take care of me even for a little while? I'm so mad... My head hurts.

"Fine. I guess I'll just die from this pain."

Now that Zayn was really upset, Josephine couldn't help feeling bad about it. "But I've already showered. You're not going to make me go all the way there now, are you?"

Zayn switched tactics. "Shouldn't you be doing this much? You have to remember that we're not officially divorced yet.

"We're still husband and wife. Besides, I'd gotten accident insurance with you as the beneficiary. If something were to happen to me, don't you think you'd be suspected of committing insurance fraud by murdering your husband for the payout?

"Also, you were the reason I got into the accident. So, even if we're strangers, you're still obligated to take care of me. You'd better get

ker here ASAP!"

He was exaggerating.

He had already been transferred to the regular ward and yet he was still using death to scare her.

Josephine really didn't feel like going over but she could not find a good excuse to decline his request. She could only end the call first and make a call to Nadine.

It didn't matter that she was in the middle of a shoot.

Since he was her boyfriend, she should be looking after him herself.

Nadine was quick to answer the phone. Moreover, after she had answered the phone, she did not say a word on purpose. She waited for Josephine to speak first.

Josephine coldly said, "Your boyfriend's about to die from hunger and dehydration at the hospital. Get a day off, and go stay with him."

Nadine was still silent.

"Hello?"

Thinking that the connection was bad, Josephine said "hello" again twice before she heard Nadine's disdainful voice.

"What are you up to, Josephine? Zayn's already asleep. I just gave him a call and he didn't answer.noveldrama

"You're telling me to get a day off and stay with him at the hospital? What are you even planning?"

"He was just pretending. Not only is he wide awake, but he keeps harassing me. You'll know once you get there."

Nadine was scornful. "Who do you think I'll believe? Him or you?"

Josephine was speechless.

Josephine scoffed. "You think I'm lying to you? Would you like me to send you my call history?"

"Hah. So, you called just to shove your conversation with Zayn in my face?" Nadine laughed. "You're one sad little thing, Josephine.

"I could show you the things he got me and the places he took me to but all you have is a call history between the two of you, and you're shoving that in my face? Don't you see how sad that is?"
