Aside from Candida, Sherilyn's other two male bodyguards were rarely seen. Yet at this moment, they were blocking the doorway, standing like sentinels.

Karol, visibly anxious, was the one they were blocking.

"Let me in!" she insisted.

"This is Ms. Gomez's private lounge," one of the bodyguards replied coldly. "Please leave immediately."

"I..." Karol's brow furrowed as she pointed towards the room, urgency in her voice. "I'm here to see her!" The bodyguard remained unfazed. "Do you think Ms. Gomez is someone anyone can just drop in to see?" Karol was taken aback, "I'm her friend! My name is Karol! If you tell her I'm here, she'll meet with me!"

The two bodyguards exchanged a look.

One of them said, "I'll check with Candida."

"Alright," the other replied, maintaining his stance in front of Karol.

After contacting Candida, she promptly appeared, her voice sharp, "Who's causing all this commotion?"

"It's her," the bodyguard explained, "She claims to be Karol, a friend of Ms. Gomez."

"Karol?" Candida echoed.

"Yes!" Karol looked at them with pleading eyes, "I'm not lying. I really am Sherilyn's friend."

"Hmph," Candida gave her a once-over, a faint, icy smile playing on her lips. "So, you're the infamous Karol."

She moved to push past them.

"Hold it right there!"

Candida stepped in, blocking her path. "I've heard of you because Mr. Nine himself mentioned you!"

Karol flinched at the name, "Him?"

Candida signaled to the bodyguards, "Mr. Nine made it clear this Karol is not on good terms with Ms. Gomez. She must not be allowed near her. Understood?"

The two bodyguards swiftly moved in, restraining Karol.

"What are you doing?" Karol's face went pale as she struggled. "I need to see Sherilyn! Let me go!"

The bodyguards exchanged another look, slightly exasperated.

Candida chuckled, shaking her head, "Give it up! With us here, you won't get a step closer to Ms. Gomez."

Her tone turned stern, "What are you waiting for? If Ms. Gomez hears this racket, do you still want your jobs?" "Yes, ma'am!"

The two bodyguards lifted Karol effortlessly.
