When Love Breaks (Josephine)

Chapter 195

When he was done talking, he casually took something out of his pocket and tossed it over to her.

She scrambled to catch it. She realized it was a red tomato keychain, and it looked handmade. The keychain was rather oddly shaped, which looked like a kindergartener's homework.

"For you. It comes with the new album. It's a limited-edition piece.

"If I catch you throwing that away, remember that I have many ways to get back at you."

He then used his finger to flick her forehead again. His lips curled into a flirtatious smirk. Then, he took his phone out and said, "I have to get back to Crestwood for a while to appease my dad.

"Otherwise, I'm afraid he'll pass away from the anger and come haunt you."

Then, he left the hospital.

The entire time, Ethan stood somewhere not too far away. He had no intention of interrupting them.

Ethan walked over to Josephine only after Yvan had left. When he saw the tomato keychain in her hand, he took it from her to have a look at it.

"I guess this is his new album's merchandise. Can I have it?"

Josephine was taken aback. "Why would you want this?"

Ethan chuckled. "Actually, I listened to his songs after you posted his album. I thought they sounded great and got an album myself.

"I'd like to keep this as a memento."

"You think his songs are good?"

Josephine was very surprised.

Yvan's songs were either the kind of rap that was an acquired taste in the country

or the kind of underground rock music that was even less popular among the

locals. How was it possible that he would his music?

But when she saw Ethan nod, she could only choose to believe him.

Since she didn't care about merchandise, she said, "You can have it. He must have made a ton of these."

Ethan smiled and shoved it into his shirt pocket. "Thank you."

When she got back home, Josephine looked up Yvan's album, purchased a copy, and listened to it while she removed her makeup.

The music style of this album was different from the one he released back when he was overseas. After returning to the country, Yvan changed his style to R&B. The rhythm was fresh and clear

Just one listen was catchy enough to get people hooked.

There were five new songs in total. However, even after listening to the entire album, she was unable to spot which one was the one dedicated to her.

One was a critique of how people lived life in a rush; one was a song about a beautiful relationship; one had a light and cheerful melody; and one was a positive and motivational song.

Using the elimination method, the four songs were unlikely to be the ones he talked about.

That could only mean that it was the last song "Proof of the Fall"

She had put on a sheet mask as she searched for the lyrics.

"Everything I touch turns to dust. I'm always alone. This place is covered in red. Only fragments of the winter night remain in this heart of mine."

There was only one thing she felt after she finished reading the lyrics. It was a

young man feigning melancholy for the sake of poetry and expression.

How pretentious. He was moaning even when there was no pain.

How was this a song dedicated to her?

Eliminated!

After much thought, she finally decided that it must be the positive and motivational one. He probably wanted to give her encouragement for her comeback as a director.

After putting the song on repeat, she casually extracted one of the verses as the caption for a post and uploaded it.

"Today was like yesterday; where we run toward tomorrow. Yvan's new album sounds great as always."

After posting that, she logged out of her account. She did not even want to look at the comments that were flooding in.

After all, a majority of them would be comments criticizing her.

She had just put her phone downnoveldrama

when she received a text message from Zayn: "You're really cruel for

abandoning me at the hospital. I'm about to die from hunger. I don't

even have any water to drink

"It's fine. After all, you'll be getting all my money once I die. Feel free to just pray

that I die faster."
